Scarebear

Timidusursa immanis

Scarebear is a bear-like creature that originates from the fae realm but now inhabits the northern part of The Cernunnos Forest. It’s a docile omnivore that prefers to exclusively eat fruits, fungi, and insects. Normally, it looks like a round fluffy bear with some soft scale on its body which resembles a heart shape. But when It’s threatened or gets scared, it can transform into a hulking abomination beast with giant arms and claws, multiple rows of sharp teeth, sturdy scale, and razor-sharp spikes. In that form, Scarebear will lose its eyesight and rely on its sharpened sense of hearing and smell, It’ll blindly attack anything around it that isn’t its kind until it finds no more target and feels safe again. Even though it’s quite friendly, curious, and will approach humanoids to play, people are warned not to approach it due to the risk of accidentally spooking it.
