(I tried dressing goth punk in the style of my local scene at the time—black+red, fishnets, chains, big leather boots, safety pins as DIY stud replacements… and people could not stop squealing and hugging me any time they saw me. I wanted to look like Mana-sama from Malice Mizer but no luck.)
