PLEASE REVISIT MIDNIGHTS!!! It’s my fav and I know I know people don’t like to speculate but I personally believe maroon and cowboy like me are about Karlie Kloss. I know some people hate the “gaylor” theory but she’s lowkey been flagging the queer community for yearssssss. Anyways pls revisit midnights it’s my fav and none of my friends like Taylor. Watching your videos make it feel like listening/analyzing Taylor songs with a friend 💜

just to hopefully give some clarity! this will be long but bear with me. For the first 71 shows (the first full US leg, the south american dates, the dates in tokyo, and one show in melbourne) she only ever played one song on each instrument (except when she randomly did is it over now x out of the woods in argentina but thats because she had previously liked a tiktok of a girl mashing the two up but at the time that was the only time she did a mashup). the rule that whole first leg was that once she played a song she would never repeat it anytime or anywhere else (so if she played tim mcgraw on night 1, it was expected that it likely wouldn't be played again) her only exception to this rule was she could repeat any song off midnights at any time since it was the most recent album at that time, and if she messed up while playing a song she would then be able to repeat it in another city. after almost 70 shows though, she began to run out and she basically threw away those rules and decided that she could do whatever she wanted lmao. her second show in melbourne (the 72nd show overall) is when she officially began the mashups by surprising the crowd with getaway car x august x the other side of the door. it was completely shocking but she did mashups nearly every night from then until the 84th show. The 84th show was the official start to the European leg, which began in paris and it was the first show since the release of TTPD (which i just want to correct something, i believe that Lana accidentally wrote her note on the wrong slide because Paris night 1 was actually the first show since the release of TTPD and thats when she played loml in full without a mashup). but all of that to say is that when she started the tour back up in Paris she began playing songs in full again (on both guitar and piano) but i think thats just because she wanted to give a few of the TTPD songs a chance to be played in full live for the first time. on paris night 4 (show 87 overall) she began doing mashups again but only for non-TTPD songs. from Paris night one all the way up until Lisbon night one (show 91 overall) she would play one mashup and then play a TTPD song in full. from show 91 until the end of the tour though she began mashing TTPD up and resumed doing mashups on both guitar and piano. after show 91 i think there were maybe only two or three shows where she played a song in full instead of mashed up just because she wanted to but i could be wrong about that. anyways, hopefully this clears up any confusion on kind of the evolution of the surprise song set throughout the eras tour :) also fun fact, maroon and you're on your on kid were definitely her favorites to play and mash up because she played both of those songs 10+ times in the acoustic set so if you hear those a lot, thats why!
