We’ve finally made it to the Ethel Cain stop, and wow… I am so glad I waited until now to dive into this album. I’ve been wondering what my winter hyper-fixation album would be this year, and here it is, it’s everything.
While we also listened to Punish, this album stands out as a beautifully tragic story that weaves together themes of trauma, abuse, love, and self-discovery. Sonically, it hits you in the most unexpected ways, and the lyrics are incredibly powerful. But what truly sets this album apart is how the music immerses you so deeply into Ethel’s story, t’s breathtaking. So many artists attempt this, but few achieve it with this level of brilliance.
Hayden, I’m officially a fan. I can’t wait to explore your past works and stay tuned for what’s next.
