THE 1989 WORLD TOUR + GRAMMY MUSEUM

Comments

1989 was her best tour vocals, but Rep was electric. Eras is just legendary bc it is her whole discography.

Susanne Stien Masters

Taylor and Beyonce went to each other’s movie premieres last year and took pretty pics together at each.

Becky

all the melodies she comes up with as she’s writing. you should watch the making of a song the at&t series for reputation it shows how she starts beginning to end

Karla Felice

taylor writes the song and composes the music with either piano / guitar with production already in mind. she then goes into the studio with an idea of how she wants it to sound and works with a producer(s)

Karla Felice

OMG!! I NEED YOU TO REACT TO THE FULL MARY J PERFORMANCE ON YOUTUBE!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ0474w66uw&ab_channel=MaryJBligeVEVO

elizabethjulia

ok watching all of this with you is spectacular but specifically IKYWT... i'm dying because same. sometimes i wish i had my first time reacting it on video because i swear i was 100% the same lmao. WANGBT is so iconic to me as well. 1989 era is something else.

elizabethjulia

I just knew getting to this you'd have to address the "red is cohesive" comment you made lolll because it's such a thing in the swifty community to know this particular taylor interview, and that one of the reasons we don't think it won album of the year and was snubbed in the industry was because it wasn't sonically cohesive.. BUT fyi red is an og swifty fan favourite album (red, 1989, and folklore are tied for me), and I totally get what you mean which is that it's *narratively* the most cohesive album, it essentially tells a heartbreak story from start to finish and the mosaic brokenhearted person is actually even more accurate to me because of the way it isn't sonically cohesive!

elizabethjulia

I’m so happy I was late to watch this, because now I get to have it as a background as I’m getting ready to go to my very first TS show 😭

Eirini

Great Thank you. . I’m watching Reputation concert now. Excited. Taylor is 5’11”

RP

Oh no not at all! I love all your comments thank you ❤️

Lauryn

Paul Sidoti her guitarist with “the hair” has been with her since her debut album

RP

Hope I’m not inundating your comment section. As I’m watching the concert I figured I’d share my thoughts and facts. lol I know when I was a fresh Swiftie I just wanted as much knowledge as I could get. I hate not knowing as many facts as I can because so many people have so many opinions and can be so divided on the topic of Miss Swift.

RP

I love their friendship ❤️ 👀 Kanye at the beginning https://youtu.be/3Iu5auxjjz4?si=Dsmn9nUu6aYh-QSn His reaction https://youtube.com/shorts/Wczkm8vuSXA?si=yYyfYIlR7r_tllnr

RP

I went searching for the Nicky/Taylor video at The VMAs and found this adorable piece I had never seen https://youtu.be/aMXKZEAIG0o?si=wHkMzXjaByHtyVw5

RP

Here is a video of Grohl talking about how she saved him at a diner party for Paul McCartney 6 years ago The reason that is being given as to why he talked about not singing live is because his daughter came out against Taylor last year re her private plane and the environment and the Swifties attacked her viciously. (which I don’t condone) and don’t think Taylor would either The best part is that the day after he said that at his concert Paul McCartney was dancing with the crowds at the Eras tour at Wembley. https://youtu.be/LEhiIr-dveE?si=CJpj40_HYm7Hli6w

RP

Not sure if anyone else has suggested the all acoustic “Tiny Desk Concert” from NPR Watch Taylor Swift play "The Man", "Lover", "Death by a Thousand Cuts" and "All Too Well" at the Tiny Desk. https://youtu.be/FvVnP8G6ITs?si=KllRu78L5DUGffkV

RP

This is kind of a Ted Talk or Masterclass for people in the industry. From the page: this intimate listening session presented by the Nashville Chapter and the Producers & Engineers Wing, Swift shares never-before-heard demos and personal cell phone videos from her experience crafting "1989" with co-executive producer Max Martin.

RP

I try to tell myself it’s intentionally hyper-stylized to match the vibe of the album. Not sure if it’s true, but it helps me embrace it. Lol

Sara Veronick

I absolutely love the “two paper airplanes flying” metaphor in “Out of the Woods.” What a perfect way to describe the brevity and fragility of the relationship in the song. Picturing paper planes, the paper-thin, joyous hope we feel at first, even when we know it will haphazardly fly until it crashes unpredictably. 🫶

Sara Veronick

"The money I'd pay for" an entire acoustic album is SO REAL. This was amazing! 💜👏💯

Insatiate Hope

Here is the full version of Taylor and MJ singing “Doubt” https://youtu.be/GZ0474w66uw?si=bV30YNQSlXSUpysb And here’s “Family Affair” https://youtu.be/PoHM9Ar_S40?si=SC-PvBTcPVRJsklW

Noreen

If you like stripped back instrumentals, you should listen to the folklore, Long Pond Studio Sessions. Those are on the folklore deluxe version.

Noreen

A few years ago nothin 🤣🤣🤣

Carol

honestly my fave tour including eras will always be rep haha. eras is a close second though.

felixyz

I’ve been to every tour of hers except the fearless tour and my favorite was reputation (excluding the eras tour of course)

Cassidy gajewski

you wanting an acoustic version of Blank Space made me smile... her solo set for the grammy museum is a masterpiece

Vronnie

Speak Now tour means so much to me. She came to Korea for the first time(and last🥲) for the tour. It was my first concert experience and my 13th birthday!! Eventhough I think other tours are better in arrangement, composition etc, Speak now is my fav. I can't forget how I was in awe in a front row barely singing along because of my poor English and excitement. I was literally enchanted💜

J.Han

The audio was off at the end, from right after the Mary J Blige performance. The full performance of Doubt will make you completely cry. Love all your reactions! 💜

Jennifer Harkins

3.5 hours of 1989?! thank youuuuu

dita steph

i know places will always be my fav song of all time from her, i’m praying for her to play it as a surprise song when if i get the chance to see her again in october 🫶

dita steph

Mick Jagger... The rolling stones 😄

Amy Beavis

It’s the holy grail of missing videos honestly

Cara M

Reputation is my favorite besides eras, but i do have a special place in my heart for speak now

felicia

Sorry I’m commenting so much, I’m watching over 2 days. King of my Heart x Clean would be amazing! Beginning and end of her Joe chapter. Stop! 😂

Cara M

WHY IVE SPENT MY WHOLE LIFE TRYING TO PUT IT INTO WORDS (floors me every time)

Cara M

“Let me remind you this was what you wanted” is such a good lyric

Cara M

Wow that was incredible..thank you!

SharonM

You can also find the full performances of all the special guests from the tour on youtube if you were interested. Someone has a Playlist!

Christine Curry

i’m a big beyonce fan too so i feel you!! idk if they just don’t know how to combine their sounds or what but they’re both pretty versatile so idk man

halle

relatable asf you saying “i could not do all of this i do one thing and im like ugh” bc SAME. and eras tour is even more insane bc it’s so long and she performs even better like it’s crazy!! could not be me!!

halle

You should watch the 1989 secret sessions before you're done your 1989 era!

Christine Curry

Just watched your comment about being inspired by Taylor - when you have the time you should watch / react to her NYU commencement speech she gave in 2022. She was a awarded a doctorate of fine arts and it's about a 15 / 20 min speech to the graduating class. It's so good!

Samantha

So I text Mick… 😂

SharonM

I hope one day you're able to watch some of the mashups Taylor has done in her acoustic set of the Eras tour! When you're done with your Taylor journey, we need to compile a list of the acousic set for you!

Roxy

Oh my GOSH I am so happy thank you I don’t know how I missed this. I have to do my MS medication injection tonight so I’ll be lounging in bed and now I have something to watch! Have a great weekend ❤️

SassyCass

It’s up! I think it was my first Patreon video, look in the Taylor collections

Lauryn

Lauryn can you watch Miss Americana on Patreon? Do you have plans to???? Please!? ❤️

SassyCass

My fav tour besides eras is reputation !!! The coreography and songs everything is perfect

Nick Maga

Hi, lovely reaction, not my favourite tour but loved the special guests, the performance of Wildest dreams, Out of the woods and I knew you were trouble. If you want some break from albums and tours maybe you'll be interested in her graduation speech for a reaction, I think it will be awesome to hear your commentary and maybe also again it'll be inspiring for you ( "Why we eat salad and not grass?"😁)

Joanna Asvesta

Here is one video. Hope it is OK. https://youtube.com/shorts/KkDjEciF3X4?si=dR_giYgI_pS6CqE_

Richard

Same so far

Lauryn

Omg do u have a link to the clap back

Lauryn

I love this tour! The editing is what it is but it’s so good and all the guests are epic. There is a full video of them performing doubt on yoUtube from marys documentary. The rest are just shorts because of the fact that taylor doesn’t own the copywrite to post them on her channel. Also her energy here and on rep is amazing but it’s another leval at eras. Performing for 3,5 hours without misskng a beat is so crazy to me. When i went my voice was GONE after two nights 😂

Isabella Peterson

I am an OG and I love the speak now tour. Also, what Dave said was very disappointing by him. He said that to one of the few pop artists who does sings and plays live all the time. I am glad Taylor clapped back at him on last Sunday's concert.

Richard

My favorite tour is reputation

Amy Versprille

I am SOOO HAPPY !! Excited to fearless !!!! Watch the tour for this one cause has a lot of behind the scenes and context wich is cool !! Thanks for all the content 🫶🏻

Nick Maga

I have seen it! I wish she did that for evermore 😭

Lauryn

I got to go to two eras shows in Sydney and we screamed the blank space “Sydney” so loud! So much fun

Cara M

It’s diabolical 😂 I love trying to count how many seconds between each edit, 1,2, 1, 1, 1,2 CRAZY !!!!

Cara M

You’ll love Folklore Long Pond sessions if you’re into acoustic Taylor, I’m not sure if you’ve seen it or reacted yet

Cara M

Red is absolutely thematically cohesive with motifs all throughout. I was rejoicing with your take ❤️❤️❤️

Cara M

Also idk if someone has commented this but Mary J Blige posted their full performance on her YouTube!

Casey Malue

The editing of the 1989 is A LOT and I get what they were going for but you're right it's hard to focus. Luckily Rep and Eras were nothing like it 😂

Shanice Nowak

If you want more of a rock style with Taylor, she performed with Haim in London because she is featured on their song Gasoline, there are a ton of videos online of it. Also, the full video of Mary and Taylor singing Doubt is on Mary's YouTube page and its a high quality version, highly recommend watching!

Sasha

I would LOVE Beyonce and Taylor to collab, but honestly I think toxic fandoms keep them from collabing because either side would be like “wtf no why would they do that” and generate hate which is ridiculous and I would love to see a song with them. Like in a time and place where it works I think it would be great if they both found they should collab.

Casey Malue

1989 tour video is way too much but I still love it - but she definitely took the notes for the next tour video and Eras as well

Amy Versprille

alsooooo her full performance with mary j blige is on youtube it's soooo soo good!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZ0474w66uw

Tay G

this is backtracking to a diff album and not sure if you've already seen it but if you liked her giving the background to each song in this you should watch the long pond sessions on disney+!!! she performs the whole folklore album in a studio with jack and aaron and there's a little segment before each performance explaining the meaning behind each of the songs

Tay G

Taylor often writes both the lyrics and music. She has said sometimes lyrics come to her first but often times a melody will get in her head and then she starts there.

KyraB

Omg some of those Grammy performances were so difficult to find a few years ago! I didn't know they were resurfaced and remastered

Matias Brey

Lauryn- I knew this version of I Knew You Were Trouble would sennnnd you! 🤭🤭

Brandi Smith

I still can’t believe she wrote out of the woods in 1 hr after hearing the track.

Amy Versprille

I’ve actually never seen either of these 🫣🫣

Brandi Smith

Wildest Dreams with the electric is also 🤌🤌

Brandi Smith

This piano version of Out of the Woods is 🤌🤌🤌

Brandi Smith

Prior to 1989 and writing Out of the Woods to the track Jack Antonoff sent her (their first time working together🤗), Taylor had always written to guitar/piano. She created the melodies and sound with the lyrics, before she ever connected with a producer.

Brandi Smith

your reaction to I Knew You Were Trouble is sooo accurate - that is the best version of this song!!

codenamewitch xx

love the vocals in both her acoustic Grammy performances and the World Tour!

codenamewitch xx

Sat and ready!

Brandi Smith

Both years performances

KyraB
