MiP Delay for moving and outlining
Added 2024-08-27 15:40:24 +0000 UTCPart of this past week has been taken up by preparations for moving soon. On reflection, however, the bigger problem that's really slowing me down right now is that I'm running into gaps in my outline. I've been focusing too much on the short term, just getting the next chapter done to try to catch up on my planned schedule, and I've done that long enough that the long-term consequences of that approach are coming due.
I know where the story needs to go, but not enough yet about the path to get there.
I'm switching focus to figuring out that path and fleshing out my outline. No chapter this week while I work on resolving that problem, and that goes for Royal Road and reddit too.
I'm sorry for all the delays recently. I would consider pausing billing, but unfortunately I simply cannot afford to lose a whole month of patreon income right now.
Thank you very much for your patience and support. Your support is making the continuation of Magic is Programming possible, and I will return to more regular chapter posts with an outline ready to enable that.
Comments
Hahaha, if you had taken two seconds to even skim it you would have realized most of it was my using the author's own words to support my characterization of patreon as being the purchase of a service but since you lack intellectual honesty I'll just return to laughing at you for thinking that insulting me has any effect at all.

2024-09-17 09:24:09 +0000 UTCYou know, I'm not reading that, since quite frankly, you're an ass who lacks the awareness to realize it, and, well, your opinion is worthless due to that. You're an ass, grow up.

2024-09-17 09:00:07 +0000 UTCFinally, a substantive rebuttal. Schedule: Weekly on TuesdayJul 18, 2023After getting feedback from several patrons, I have decided that in the interest of a more reliable schedule and higher quality I will update with a new chapter weekly. One new chapter will be posted each Tuesday. When I have an additional chapter ready beyond the upcoming Tuesday, I will post that on Saturday for Platinum patrons until Platinum tier reaches the promised eventual 8 advance chapters. After that, I'll build a backlog again, and hopefully improve my writing pace enough to increase the update frequency for everyone. In that post the author outlines the rate at which she will be uploading his posts. That post was one of the determining factors when I decided to purchase a membership. If I am purchasing a membership patreon's words not mine then what am I purchasing membership to? Obviously I am purchasing a membership too content provided by the author. If we look up the definition of service in Webster the definition that best fits this context is as follows; a facility supplying some public demand. In this context the facility is the content provider aka the author and the public demand is the content provided. In conjunction with the schedule provided by the author describing the nature of the relationship as the purchase of a service is entirely appropriate.
Joshua C Hahn
2024-09-15 04:49:51 +0000 UTCBecause you're not buying a service. You're essentially donating money to someone because you like their work. That, and if you actually read the description, it says you get to read chapters in advanced, and how many in advanced. It doesn't say that there will be, just that you will be able to read them before they're public. So again, stop being an ass, and stop trying to use words you clearly don't understand the meaning of.

2024-09-15 04:34:57 +0000 UTCPlease explain, how is expressing discontent at not receiving the agreed upon service but still being charged being an ass? My complaint is completely reasonable. The only times I became snide was when instead of addressing the substance of what I said people instead insulted me. As an aside if you think any of the words I used were big then your vocabulary is trash.

2024-09-14 22:25:56 +0000 UTCOk Mr. "I'm so so smart I can use big words." Grow up, stop being an ass
viperfan7
2024-09-14 22:09:02 +0000 UTCEven though I have unsubscribed from the author I'm tempted to renew my subscription just so I can laugh at you some more. Your lack of understanding of words and basic commerce, I find endlessly amusing. This is, by the way, more value than the author's provided in the last half a month.
Joshua C Hahn
2024-09-13 03:05:59 +0000 UTCEntitled? I am certainly entitled to what I pay for. That's how transactions work. And you still haven't disputed my point. You have only engaged in childish name calling. Apparently you also lack reading comprehension. I already mentioned that I unsubscribed. Subscriptions go from month to month so my subscription had already renewed and won't end until the 13th.
Joshua C Hahn
2024-09-13 02:35:12 +0000 UTCOh get your head out of your ass you entitled pos. If you hate it so much, why haven't you unsubscribed?

2024-09-13 02:29:02 +0000 UTCHahaha, you're so smart that you entirely missed the point of the comment. I wasn't mocking you for being inarticulate, I was mocking you for using an insult and thinking that it disputes my characterization of the authors fraudulent behavior.
Joshua C Hahn
2024-09-11 11:38:41 +0000 UTCWhy would I try to be articulate with someone like you? Why waste the effort when a couple words can say the exact same thing? You use big words because you think it makes you look smart. I use small words as I'm smart enough to simplify things so anyone can understand them. Stop being an ass

2024-09-11 07:48:54 +0000 UTCYet another articulate and well thought out rebuttal. Oh still my beating heart I'm in the presence of brilliance.

2024-08-31 19:27:47 +0000 UTCGood rebuttal. You did a thorough job of rebutting my points. I did unsubscribe though that was the point. Edit: changed abutting to rebutting. Voice to text error.

2024-08-31 01:53:41 +0000 UTCUnsubscribing is less effort than your comment. Your attitude won't be missed π

2024-08-31 01:37:10 +0000 UTCTranslation: I'm not going to provide what you are paying for but I am still going to charge you. If you had paused billing I would have stuck around even though you only release 1 chapter a week because your concepts enjoyable and the execution is pretty solid. But who the hell thinks it's okay to not provide the services being paid for and still charge for it? Would you accept that from Netflix or any streaming service?
