MiP One week delay

This week's planned chapter for platinum tier will be delayed, possibly to next week. I will make up for it as soon as I can.

For the last month, the batch of Adderall I have been taking to treat my ADHD has been only about 1/3 as effective as normal. While I realized this pretty quickly, Adderall is unfortunately classed as a Schedule II controlled substance in the US, which is the most heavily restricted category that is still legal for doctors to prescribe. Because of the legal restrictions on it, once I pick up a 30-day supply, I can't get a new one until those 30 days are over.

Because of this, writing as much as I wanted to has been a difficult struggle for the past month.

I want to write more. I enjoy writing Magic is Programming. I have plans for it that I'm excited about. When my own brain constantly acts like a recalcitrant child, getting distracted by any random thing after the first 10 minutes and remaining distracted for hours, despite the fact that it's my own desire to focus on writing, none of that matters very much.

Fortunately, the 30 days for that bottle of Adderall are over now, and I made certain that the new bottle is from a different manufacturer. When I'm taking fully effective Adderall, I can focus well enough that 2 chapters per week might be feasible, even long term. I only got the new bottle very recently, however, and between the difficulties last week and the Easter holiday on the weekend, I have not yet had enough productive time to get back on track for my planned schedule.

On a side note, this issue is unfortunately not as simple as a manufacturer making a substandard inferior product. Even for the small minority of people who are affected by differences between Adderall manufacturers, it depends on the combination of both the manufacturer and the individual person. There are numerous complaints online about variations in effectiveness of Adderall between different manufacturers, and I have found comments where one person praises a particular manufacturer as the best, while another person lists that same manufacturer as ineffective for them. I will have to make my own personal lists of compatible and incompatible manufacturers.

This is not an April Fools post, unfortunately. If I made one of those, I'd try to make it funny.
