Her Speak Now tour is fantastic. There are two versions. The original and EAS remastered it, but the remastered does not have her songs in the order she sang them originally. The 1989 tour is also so so good.

Everything is better live, so many of Taylor's specifically are another level when done acoustically. But this one, we as fans have been waiting since the release for her to perform it and figured it would happen this leg of tour while Paramore was her opener. I have my songs I like and relate to more now at 40, but even being 6 years older than her, I still in felt like I was going through similar eras of my own as her albums came out, so there is nostalgia with all of them. Her music and lyrics have matured and evolved with every album. yes, the first few albums were more juvenile in themes, but she was a teenager and early 20's, so it tracks. I don't think her last several albums are "made for little girls" the way so many people like to say, usually because they haven't ever actually listened to her albums.

Our favorites songs from this one don't quite line up (and I gasped when you called "never grow up" cute--it's such a stab-to-the-heart crying song for me), but love that you found new faves the vault songs across all are tricky for the timeline--they often have a more current production, but the core of the songs still usually sound like the original eras. these vault songs feel SO speak now to me in structure/theme/lyrics (and I agree on debut--an excellent album! It will be big fun for debut to get more attention soon)

She was 32 when she wrote it...the same age Mayer was when he dated a nineTEEN year old. It's pretty clear that he groomed her, took something of her, ghosted her, and then left her with PTSD that I think she only started dealing with in 2022 properly. He does deserve jail time.

More for your sake over anything, it's a lot to digest, and sitting through the entire album is like... you're only really able to absorb half of it before you start getting tired. I think it would be much more enjoyable for you that way, but that's just my suggestion. Cant wait to see your future videos!

Some back story you may or may not know: Mine is apparently fictional. The lore states she was sitting by the water with Cory Monteith, they never dated but she imagined what a whole relationship with him would look like. Back to December references the night Kanye stole the mike at the VMAs-- Taylor and Taylor were dating at the time and he was the one who presented her with that award. The lyric is "how you held me in your arms that September night the first time you ever saw me cry." Taylor Lautner said he always regrets not defending her in the moment. Most of this album is about John Mayer, who was VERY butthurt about Dear John and wrote "Paper Doll" retaliation. And she references Dear John again later in her discography, in Midnights. I think she left Taylor Lautner for another chance at John Mayer, who most of this album is about. (Back to December and the line in Haunted about a new guy making her smile but her wishing it was him.) Better than Revenge is about Joe Jonas and Camila Belle. Joe Jonas wrote "Much Better" about the triangle. The original lyric that she changed for the rerecording was: 'She's not what you think, she's actress, she's better known for things she does on the mattress." Innocent is about Kanye West and her "forgiving" him for the VMAs. (You'll have new Septembers) Enchanted is about a guy from Owl City who she only met once and when he heard it and wrote a response song, she never responded LOL. You have the themes and vibe of this album down pat. I'm so impressed and excited about how much you're enjoying this ride and doing your research. And lowkey, Evermore girlies ARE Speak Now girlies. If you're truly interested, I am a huge fan of the original Speak Now album, and while I love the re-recording, I think most of the original tracks sounded better (also, justice for If This Was a Movie, my favorite Speak Now track which she moved to Fearless TV !!!). I would recommend you check out the original version if only for this album (off camera ofc, not like you need to react to it). You're going to LOVE Fearless.
