2024-09-11 05:58:05 +0000 UTC100% Gaylor here (or more specifically I believe she’s had queer relationships). Where there’s smoke there’s fire and she’s not hiding it. I don’t want her outed or anything but if you know the Easter eggs I’m referring to then it’s hard not to feel like she’s come out over and over again. I’m a long time fan and I’m glad I found the Gaylors, it just gives whole new meanings to her music. She’s always portraying herself as caged and closeted, there’s religious guilt and forbidden/hidden love themes all throughout her discography and she uses dates and numbers that have sapphic ties like really often. I don’t buy that it’s not okay to speculate. I’ve been a fan for 13 years, she’s built a career on clues and Easter eggs and encouraged fans to work them out. I could list a million examples but this is already too long. There is just way too much subtle lgbt flagging. It can’t be coincidental at this point. So I think she must be queer or queer baiting but either way she is way too smart to not know what she’s doing. If people think it’s fine to speculate about men in her life but not the women then maybe they should examine what difference there is and what’s so negative about thinking she might have loved a woman. Look into the gaylor iceburg if you’re curious. I was skeptical at first but the more I read the more layers I found in her music and it’s so much more beautiful and tortured. But fair warning, there’s people who feel the need to very aggressively defend her heterosexuality like sending death threats level intense, so be safe. ps if she isn’t queer then when she said ‘gay pride makes me me’ in Miss Americana then that was problematic cause she, an apparent ally, shouldn’t be centring herself in gay pride. also it’s just a bit of a weird thing to say if she’s not queer.

There’s just something about her- stunningly beautiful, genuinely kind, goofy, real, finds a way to remain relatable in her lyrics despite her massive fame. She’s a gem. Just saw her in concert for the first time in Amsterdam and I’ll never recover from her making eye contact with me! Haha I sound crazy but she just has a way of doing that to us! Spent way too much time today watching all of your reactions and have held back from commenting bc I’m usually more of a lurker (cue crazy again), but I’ve loved watching you grow to see her and love her too. Can’t wait for the Eras Tour reaction! Hope you’ll find a way to watch the TTPD set as well (not included in the movie bc it was added on later) bc it’s incredible.

2024-08-05 18:57:29 +0000 UTCi’m what would be considered a “gaylor” and have been since reputation came out. i’m a lesbian and the gaylor community was really helpful for me when I was coming to terms with my sexuality and overall it’s a really inclusive and supportive community of mostly queer people. i do think there are plenty of gaylors who take things too far, as there are many non gaylor swifties who do too. it’s kind of the nature of fandom and the internet these days. i think taylor could be bi but she doesn’t owe us any kind of coming out or anything. i think she’s as out as she wants to be for the people who ~get it~ and pick up what she’s putting down!! 🫶 love your reaction videos btw!! you’re definitely a swiftie now, i’ve been bingeing your videos this week after work 💚

2024-06-28 03:22:51 +0000 UTCFirst, I just want to say before my comment that I am not accusing you of being a Gaylor and I think it's totally fine for people to be curious and have a crush on whoever they want to and interpret Taylor's songs in any way that they want to (and we pretty much all have an obsession/crush on Taylor) but Taylor has said that she supports but is not part of the gay community! Having said that, I know it's easy to jump on the "Taylor's a closeted gay person" bandwagon, but personally I find the whole Gaylor narrative really disgusting. Taylor has talked about it in the prologue to the 1989(TV) album where she explains that she stopped dating because she was always getting vilified and slut shamed for it in the media and she just wanted to hang out with her girlfriends, but sadly people sexualized her friendships and it obviously bothers her. Earlier this year the New York Times published a story that "proved" Taylor was gay. The Gaylors who are believing this and putting that narrative out, are saying that Taylor OWES it to the gay community to come out and be a voice for gay rights. I find it extraordinarily entitled and dehumanizing to have a large group of people that are supposedly fans, going into all of her songs and her life in the public eye and demanding that she admit that it's all queer coded. If Taylor was closeted, why are all of these Gaylors trying to make her admit it? And if she's not gay, they're sexually harassing her based on her sexuality! Are either of those scenarios okay? And how would these people feel if someone was trying to out them in front of millions of people before they were ready? Our society has come a very long way in how the queer community is regarded (yes, we have a hell of a long way to go) but it's going backward to demand that a public figure admit that they're gay whether or not they are. People being outed before they're ready kill themselves with regularity. Whatever Taylor's sexuality is, it's HERS, and she does not owe anyfuckingbody an explanation or proof of her queerness or lack thereof!

There is just too much depth to most of her albums and lyrics any it’s impossible to take it all in and process in only one or two listens. Sometimes there might be songs I’m not sure about on the first listen, that end up being one of my favorites.

But still it's not really a song i go back to. Even though Reputation has bops and it's great in the context of the eras tour as it's so high energy, it's not the Taylor music I gravitate towards. I'm more post-folklore music. Love this Taylor journey for you!

Midnights is the album that made me finally give her a chance and now I just feel shame for how much I hated on her for many years. I'm gay myself and would love it if she came out as bi, and there is some convincing evidence out there that it's a possibility, but at the end of the day I totally respect what she has said (that she's a straight ally) and go with that until she tells us otherwise. And some of the things "Gaylors" claim are evidence of her queerness are indeed outlandish and a stretch haha. What matters most to me is her talent and how good of a person she is. I love her music fiercely no matter her sexuality, and I definitely understand and share your admiration and crush on her lol.

The rep tour is a large part of why it's grown on me, the songs are just phenomenal live that is when this album truly shines, and also it just took a while to get used to the sound cause it is a big contrast to some of her other work
