I FINALLY LISTENED TO REPUTATION BY TAYLOR SWIFT (drunk)

Had a BLAST listening to this album. Is it her best? I don't think so, but there are elements I like.

Lauryn

Anakin Frum

Thanks Lauryn! Will wait for the video on here.

Asia Kossmann

Hey! Thanks for joking the Patreon. I’m reloading rep rn straight to Patreon and won’t be using Vimeo anymore.

Lauryn

Anyone can help me watch this? I haven't used Vimeo before and just downloaded the app and sign in (same email as here) and I can't seem to open it. What am I missing? Ta!

Asia Kossmann

I strongly believe this album was meant to be performed live on tour like it definitely gives a whole new vibe to listening to these songs! I believe that's also why many people are suggesting the rep tour ^^

nor

Hopefully you watch the Reputation Tour, gives a completely different experience to the album! Great reactions though!

Sarah

When originally listening to the reputation album, it was hit and miss for me, but after watching her reputation stadium tour...OMG!!! She is such a great performer that my opinion completely changed. I can't wait to see you react to it. Love your reactions..keep it up!

Liz Acosta

I will say , which I have said often with her music, I don’t like reputation album but LOVE her live version of it. The drums are everything live

Alexia 🫶🏻

There is a music documentary on Netflix I would highly recommend called This Is Pop. The episode “Stockholm Syndrome” talks about Max Martin. It’s very interesting!

Alyssa Thomas

Was just coming here to comment this!

Marissa Boyd

That’s dope, I didn’t know him but I’ll check out his work. Thank you for sharing!! My main issue with this album is its production, and there’s definitely hip hop elements in this album with the drums/synth placements.

Lauryn

I respect your opinion 100%! I just wanted to share some info about Max Martin. I think if Taylor wanted to do hip-hop she would have. She wasn’t trying to do hip-hop here. She’s doing pop with the most successful pop producer of the last 25 years. Max Martin has worked with N*SYNC, Katy Perry, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Britney Spears (and more). He actually helped launch Britney’s debut album success. He wrote/produced Baby One More Time and Crazy from that album. Overall he had 27 songs that have debuted at #1. The only other artist that beats that record is Paul McCartney! He has won 5 Grammys, has won songwriter of the year 11 times from ASCAP Pop Music Awards. He isn’t some random producer. He’s extremely prolific and his influence is still felt today in the pop music industry. I’m not saying this to try and change your mind or tell you you’re wrong. Nah, you feel how you feel! Just wanted to share some tidbits about Max Martin that I felt were important.

Alyssa Thomas

Yes!

Lauryn

Rep is my life, not gonna lie. I love overproduction. I love pettiness. I love that she start that album with ...ready for it and then end it with most soft, vulnerable song. Dress, Don't Blame Me, King of My Heart, DwoHT, GATEWAY CAR, are still one of her best songs for me. But I don't mind your opinion at all. To be honest I'm very happy you are not fake ass mother*ucker like some of the rest. Be true to yourself. We Swifties can smell if someone is faking it:)

Justyna

Thanks for doing the Prologue, please keep doing them. Especially if you do red next.

Liz N

Girl, you have to react to rep stadium tour,it will change your opinions on album

Viktoria Virabiani

Nope it’s just the tour! But I’m realising now that you probs won’t watch any tours until you’re done w her discography anyway haha

Madi

Is that another doc?

Lauryn

I love that you dress according to the album! Vibes on point 🍸 Are you going to react to the Rep tour?

Madi

For the a-whole that left that racist and mean comment to you about getting lit, Taylor was spotted earlier this year at Questlove's Private Uno Party and someone in her game was lighting up a FAT joint so she gets blazed for sure lol

Gigi

No worries, any Taylor fans that are watching mostly want her to be given a chance because she’s so written off based on the false perception about her. Reputation was my entry into Taylor Swift and I did love it when it dropped bc it was her most different body of work yet and because up until then she had been so much softer and more polished. I did enjoy a bit of edge here but believe you are spot on about its producers doing it a disservice. I worry that by starting with Folklore and Evermore, everything will pale in comparison but I do believe the only two Taylor album to match those is Midnights and maybe TTPD. I see that Red TV is winning your pole but that is 30 songs long, and meanders in finding its voice and genre. The quality greatly varies from track to track. I highly recommend Midnights next, an awesome concept album and fun/distinct pop melodies with complex feelings and top notch writing! It’s also slightly experimental in synth sound . Love these videos, thank you!!

Sandy

I havent watched the reaction yet but you mentioned the dude saying Taylor doesn’t want weed smoking criminals as fans…umm that person must not listen to her music “you smoked then ate 7 bars of chocolate” that sounds like me when I have the munchies “All my friends smell like weed or little babies” yeah she totally has a problem with weed 🙄

Ashley Ortiz

If you want, check out the Cynthia Erivo & Shoshana Bean cover of "I Did Something Bad." It's stunning. It's a really simple arrangement (just their voices and a lot of strings.) It's sounds so much better. https://youtu.be/44W9qstI8H8?si=L2IwZVgtB8gvoBIJ

Team Old Fashioned! Thanks so much for your reaction. I enjoyed hearing your perspective. Don't Blame Me is one of my favorites and definitely the standout of the album for me. I have a few others that I enjoy. I appreciate Taylor's bravery in trying new things while processing her emotions and being vulnerable. And I appreciate how your review acknowledges the good and not so great with that. It tied in nicely with the prologue which I had never read before this reaction. I am a relatively new Swiftie - my daughter "forced" me to listen to Folklore and Evermore during the pandemic, and I became a lot more open-minded about her. But it was driving my daughter and two of her friends on a road trip to Eras last summer that really converted me.

MEA

I seriously would not worry about backlash for disliking songs and being honest! Really all swifties are looking for (even the toxic ones tbh) are for Taylor to be given a chance/taken seriously. Which you totally are doing! Great reaction!

Robert Ellis

I hope we get to see your reaction to the LWYMMD music video 😁🤞

Jamie Fargo

I think something positive for you to look forward to is production has a chance to be better on the re-record 😅 for the most part she has kept the sounds very similar to the originals so not to change them too much but there is a chance that mixing on Reputation (Taylor’s Version) will be more what you are looking for! Genuinely as long as people approach their reviews respectfully (which you do) Swifties won’t be upset if someone doesn’t love a song/album. All we really want is people to give her a chance beyond the radio singles. Also I think I saw a poll where Red was winning to be next? Please please please research what Forever Winter is about and the backstory to Ronan. Both of those songs cover heavy material and are close to a lot of Swifties hearts

Caitlin Green

Honestly, I think you will feel about the same for the Lover album. Most do, although most Swifties really Stan Rep, but I think it’s more just what was going on back then and she had disappeared and Rep was her big return. Even with Swifties though, Lover I feel is a less “loved” album. It had to grow on me. However, it has the most tracks that I feel are more Taylor exploring an R&B vibe- especially False God, Afterglow, and All of the Girls You Loved Before (you’ve got to make sure you listen to this one. It was leaked and released on streaming only I think, after the album dropped. It’s a BOPPPPPPP). Anyway, love your vibe. Love your honest reaction to the music and for being your genuine self in your videos🫶✌️ I’m sure you’re aware, but Red/Speak Now/Debut (Taylor Swift) are her first 3 albums and are more of a country pop vibe. But that story telling is there, there are lots of piano and guitar and DRUMS, and it’s just such a journey to see how Taylor has grown and matured and maneuvered through the industry over the last 20 years. Speak Now is completely self written. The entire album. And she was 19-20. Anyway, thanks for assisting Taylor in keeping the Swifties fed😂 Can’t wait for more🫶

Brandi Smith

I totally understand your reaction to this album after listening to folklore and evermore the writing on those is just amazing and the styles she did it in really showcased her lyrics. I will say reputation is still one of my favorites. It’s one that you will definitely go back to to like just vibe to it’s so fun and also just all the lore behind it! I love the music videos that makes it better and also the live reputation stadium tour I think it changes peoples mind about this album a lot is honestly so iconic 🖤 she makes everything better when she sings it live

Mariposaa13

me being nervous to ever put this on YT.. this means a lot, thank you! and yesss edible QUEEN we are the same lol

Lauryn

don't blame me might be my favorite on the album. ngl I haven't re-listened to it yet but will before my ranking video.

Lauryn

Early main channel reactions, this vid probably won't be up for a while. I'll probably never do unedited vids for albums, unless I start streaming one day. I genuinely love editing (still practicing) and I feel like it adds to the creativity. trust me, uncut is just a bunch of non stop talking lmao

Lauryn

Wait question…are you editing the videos on Patreon for your reactions? What makes them different than the YouTube reactions? Just curious

Caitlin Green

Just got done watching and girrrllll, who will not be mad at you for having Taylor songs you don’t care for……The Swifties!!!! We all have those songs. Honestly, your favorites on this album are also my favorites- especially Dancing With Our Hands Tied!!! Hands down, best song on Reputation and I will die on that hill!!! But yeah, I don’t think anyone will come for you in the way you think they might. You aren’t trashing Taylor just to trash her. You aren’t trashing her at all actually, you’ve given her her flowers many times🫶 Can’t wait for Red!! Oh, and I’m pretty sure Taylor partakes of the THC in some form. I can’t see her smoking too often just for the sake of her singing voice, but I’d bet she’s popping edibles when she’s chillaxing😎 ✌️🫶

Brandi Smith

There is a great majority of us that will and do respect the opinions of those that don't like certain tracks or albums, especially after listening to them and giving them a chance. I think what no one can actually stand are people that speak on her music and have never heard it. Came into this reaction having seen you post that you didn't like it that much, and will admit that I was like please let her like don't blame me at last, so cheers to that. oh and taylor totally doesn't care about people smoking.
