Hey guys, hope you're all doing great!
Here's a little update note from our side!
As you know we had a nice week away from things this summer, and ever since we got home the weather has been so amazing! So we have tried to get some time after "work" to go out and do some swimming in the local lakes and enjoy the remnants of the summer.
That was until two weeks ago when we were visiting a really nice swimming spot nearby with some friends on our day off (right after the dagger video got published). The place has a gorgeous waterfall, and it's not too crowded (the old pic of Hansi we attached is at that exact place!). After a session in the water, we were just going to relax there the rest of the day, but just as we were getting ready to go for a second round of swimming, Hansi suddenly couldn't get up or straighten his leg anymore.
It was quite the journey to get home, hopping on one leg up an extremely overgrown path, trying to get to the car in time. Since Hansi was in a lot of pain and we didn't know what it was, it felt like we had to hurry. Some locals helped us with a bag of frozen vegetables for cooling (thanks for the carrots and peas, strangers!) straight to the ER where he got an appointment for MRI. Turns out the meniscus was fractured and had lodged itself into the joint, so surgery had to be scheduled to get that fixed.
Fast forward to today, Hansi had surgery 3 days ago and things are going well, he's recovering, and has to spend the next 5-6 weeks offloading the leg by walking around on crutches and not bending the leg more than 90 degrees.
So now, after many days moving back and forth to the hospital, we are back to working on YouTube stuff and our next projects. But things are moving much slower than usual. Suddenly feeling our capacity to produce dropping that fast has been a bit unsettling. The mental pressure rises fast when we can see viewership dropping whilst knowing we aren't close to having a new upload ready. But that's how it is, we have to take our time for now, and we are extremely grateful for the support here that comes in more or less independently of our uploads. Patreon is the only side of our business model that isn't directly tied to uploads and view numbers, so that's epic, and that has a huge positive impact on our mentality when stuff like this happens!
That's more or less it for this update! The projects we are working on now are really exciting, can't wait to see where they end up, and to share them with you!
(Oh and we are also working on selling custom cutting mats! It might finally happen, we are super stoked!)
Have a good weekend guys, much love from both of us!
