Blue Velvet Part 1
Added 2023-03-10 22:42:23 +0000 UTCMaybe I draw a lot of inspiration from my surroundings...from furniture, from light, plants, etc. Finding new ways to shoot my apartment has also been really fun. And this sofa has history...it was used one of the first times I photographed someone else, in April 2020. I've included a shot from that at the end.
The person who owned the studio and sofa was someone I met through a sex-positive club here in NYC. We went on a couple dates, but ultimately became friends and helped each other out with creative projects over the years. When he left NYC after 22 years just a month ago, he donated the sofa to my studio.
I just love how everything connects in this city...
