Dear You, Always {Write Letters to Ex}

It's Jordy here with a special little mod for you all! I started getting back into Sims gameplay again (I know right!) and I wanted to try a new legacy challenge I'd never attempted to before. That's when I discovered the Dear You, Always Legacy Challenge by StorytellerWhims

It's a cute legacy that features heartbreak, self discovery and of course all the drama! While reading through Generation 1's rules there's a requirement/goal for the founder sim to write 3 Romance Novels based on the three relationships they have with other sims at the same time! Throughout the legacy your sims novels are to be passed down/discovered throughout future generations so it got me wondering for the sake of storytelling, would it be possible for sims to to write an actual letter?

THE ANSWER IS YES!

So I did some light modding and made it possible for sims to write a letter and you can actually customize it! (Still getting used to working with objects for modding purposes so go easy on me)

How it works is your sims will need to either use a computer or a Journal (Parenthood or Life and Death required) and look for this interaction:

Then after a bit your sims will receive a blank envelope in their inventory (its blank on purpose i promise) Writing this letter will increase your Writing Skill (BG) and your Romance Skill (LOVESTRUCK)

From there you'll want to "Write Love Letter to an EX" which will open this menu where you can write who the letter is about and what you want to say!

And then you will have your letter! Sims will even get a moodlet from it (I believe i only did 4 for this one)

Now to make it even more fun there are a few things you can do with this letter once its written! If you have Growing Together, you can add the letter to a keepsake box (it should also work with other chests if its base game) and if you have Life and Death, you can make the letters an heirloom

You also noticed you can Dedicate the Letter to an ex! Well for this, your sims will need to have technically been in a relationship with i.e. you'd have to breakup for this to appear! It doesn't do anything but its more just for the storytelling.

And that's pretty much the gists of this mod! It's something cute, fun and lighthearted! HUGE SHOUTOUT to StorytellerWhims for the inspiration for this mod! I would like to point out that this isn't meant to be a replacement for the requirement of Gen 1's goals its something extra for fun!
