Hey Guys! It's Jordy here with a new little project that's been LONG overdue but we're here now! Introducing...the WORLD TOUR MOD!

This was a project that I'd been working on for pretty much forever and there's so much more I want to add but I'm here to give you all a mod that I'm very happy with! So, let's start the show!

MUSIC TO MY EARS

For the longest time, I've always wanted to make my own custom skill but I could never tell what mod project would make the most sense for one, until World Tour came along. I'm happy to introduce the Songwriting skill!

There are different ways for sims to level up this skill. They can practice writing lyrics on the PC or by jotting down some notes in a journal (Parenthood or Life and Death Required). You can have your sims create tracks on the computer. Other ways include watching songwriting tutorials online, going to the recording studio and even attending songwriter camps! There are a bunch of other ways to level up this skill but this is just some of the few!

When you reach the highest level, your sims can unlock the Lyrical Genius reward trait! Lyrical Genius sims can expect higher payout when it comes to their songs!

I've also added preferences for Songwriting skill so your sims can Like or Dislike it! And I've added Songwriting as a Club Activity as well (Get Together required)

Pro Tip: Having a high songwriting skill can be beneficial for certain things like for example, higher songwriting increases the amount of tracks you can produce at home or in the studio!

DONT HAVE A COW...PLANT

Introducing Cow Tunes!

Yes you heard that right! Cow Tunes is music platform tailored for sims who are passionate about well music and songwriting! To get started they'll need to purchase a membership:

Once that's done, they'll have access to so many new features. The main focus is the Independent Artists Panel. This will be where your aspiring songwriters will spend all of their time while handling their career. Initially, many of the features will be inaccessible until your sims acquire a record deal.

Your sims can upload their songs they've created on the computer and earn some simoleons and possibly even a fanbase as well! Customize your song's title and a description by clicking on the CD track! After uploading your sims may get some feedback from CowTune users (spoiler alert: not all of them will be nice!)

DO WE HAVE A DEAL?

Speaking of Record Deals...

If you want your sims to take their craft to the next level, they can do so by submitting a demo to one of three record labels! (Sending a Demo costs $200 simoleons a piece)

There are 3 Record Labels to choose from:

Depending on the label, there's a chance that your sims may or may not get signed! Dinky Beats is more open to new talent, Maxis Music is extremely strict and New Tastemakers aren't as picky as Maxis Music but still hold higher standards than Dinky Beats!

If your sim is rejected, they'll get a moodlet which will keep them from resubmitting another demo for a few days.

But if they do manage to get signed they'll get a notification and a new trait! Some labels will even give you a sign on bonus too!

They'll also receive Custom Buffs and may feel good or bad about the deal they've just signed!

And if you have my Growing Pains Mod installed, when asking kids what they want to be when they grow up and they select “Rockstar”, if they choose to follow through and decide they want to get signed they may earn this moodlet down below:

TIME TO MAKE ART

Okay your sim is officially a signed artist..but what now?

Well, now your sims can unlock some of the many other features that come with Cow Tunes!

You can have your sims do things like rehearse, visit the recording studio to record music, opt in for photoshoots, perform concerts, attend award shows and yes, even go on a world tour!

Some of the these events will give your sims money, increase their fandom, raise their fame/reputation level if you have Get Famous and I've added some chance cards to certain ones so your sims could get some interesting storytelling experiences!

SPECIAL REQUESTS

Did I mention that sometimes sims will get special invites to other projects? Yes! I've been working on this for a bit now and now, there's a chance for your sims to get invited to do other special events like record music for a movie soundtrack, perform at an awards ceremony and even guest star on a TV show!

AND THE AWARD GOES TO...

This was ESPECIALLY fun to do! Your sims can attend 3 award shows:

Record Labels can submit your sims music to the Will Wright Visionary Arts Committee which will earn a nomination for an award! All you have to do is attend the award your nominated for and there's a chance your sim will either win or lose! Winning will give your sim a Starlight Accolade award!

There are also some new socials I've included like Practicing for Acceptance Speech or Discussing the Awards night!

ALBUM MODE

Being a Signed Artist isn't just about the fans and having fun, you've got work to do! Signed Sims can submit their songs to the record label (2 Tracks for a Single, 4 for an EP and 8 for a full album) Once the label's received your work, they'll send a confirmation and you'll have to wait a bit before hearing back if they'll push the project forward.

You'll be given a prompt if the project moves forward or if it's rejected. If the album has been accepted, your sim will be given their money up front and you'll get an increase in fans for the latest project!

DROPPING THE BALL

I did say that it's going to be work didn't I? Labels are going to want to see returns on their investments and your sims will need to work hard to keep from being dropped by their labels! Doing things like rehearsals, going on tour, performing at events and interacting with fans are some of the ways to keep the interest going!

If you feel like the musician life is not for your sims, they can easily opt out on the phone and quit the label!

But be warned, SOME labels don't forget if your sims cut ties with them and it'll be MUCH harder to get another chance if you choose to do so!

In the Event your sim is stuck in a shady record deal, have them go to court! There's a chance your sims might lose their case and it'll be another 48 hours before they'll be able to do try again!

INDUSTRY RIVAL

I'm all for the drama in a sims story and that's why I've created the INDUSTRY RIVAL. A new relationship type for sims who are also signed artists! Artists who have a bad relationship with other artists can Call Sim an Industry Plant to make the relationship happen!

There are some cool interactions as well that sims can do so keep an eye on that! If you want to make a random sim your industry rival, I've included a cheat to do so! Just be sure to Shift+Click and add whoever you want as a rival that way!

GENRES

A cute storytelling idea that came to mind was giving your sims the ability to add genre traits! These are purely cosmetic and just for fun and don't add anything extra!

ALL AROUND THE WORLD

You can't have a WORLD TOUR mod without being able to tour! Signed Artists can schedule their tours and they'll be gone for about 3 days! But don't worry their needs will be well taken care of while they're gone! They'll earn a moodlet and maybe a chance card!

Performance Based

I mentioned earlier that keeping the labels happy is by submitting music, going to events and doing things like touring and performing. I've added a hidden score to keep track of how well your sims are doing. This will be your sims Stage Presence Score. Doing things like rehearsing will increase this score and the better the score, the better your sims will do with their performances!

I aim to expand this system more in the future! But for now, if you want your sims to check their score, have them do a meeting with their executives via phone or do a virtual one on the computer and get some feedback!

Hot or Not! You Decide!

Sims can check the Hot vs. Not Music Charts each week to see if their music is really selling! For now the music charts are random: Either your sim is on fire for the week and they earn a little extra cash flow! Or...they're not and they'll suffer because of it!

Future plans will include things like performances or sales as indications for how well your sims are doing on the charts! Maybe even some secret things persuade better results!

All About the Fans

As your sims progress in their career, they'll earn a fandom! To help keep the fandom going you can do things like promote an upcoming album release via livestream, attend special events and of course make music!

Be warned though, choices you make can easily make your growing fandom crumble! Things like chance cards or music releases can increase or decrease your fanbase!

Songspiration

I had a cute storytelling idea where sims can practice writing lyrics and earn what I call Songspiration buffs! These are cute buffs sims will get while they're songwriting and they can be based off things going on in their lives! More will be added later on but for now these are the things that add "songspiration":

1) Being Married

2) Having a Baby

3) Getting their Heartbroken

4) Just Being a Teen

5) Winterfest Holiday (Seasons Req.)

Like I said more will be added over time in future updates!

Took a lot to figure out how to make this work but I believe we did it! Business Owners can host a lecture to teach a class on Songwriting by using the whiteboard!

There's so much more I added to this mod but I didn't want to overwhelm you all so I have a little Google Doc that goes into further detail about what's what!
