Business Casual Mod 🤑

Make money no matter where you are!

Hey Guys its Jordy here to bring you my new mod, "Business Casual" This mod has been a WIP for a while now, so let's get into all of the things your sims can do with this mod!

BUSINESS MINDED

For the sims who've got a mind for money matters or think they've got what it takes to operate a small, intimate business or a business on a much larger scale, they'll need to obtain the Small Business Owner Reward Trait! With this trait, Sims will have access to all kinds of different resources to help their businesses grow!

ALL IN ONE APP

One of the many perks of this trait, is the new "My First Storefront" App! This can be found on your sims' Phones or their Computers. (Some interactions are Phone or Computer Exclusive) Within the app, sims can do things like Read Customer Reviews, Invest in Stocks and even go shopping for spaces for their business!

ACCESSING THE SIM WIDE WEB

A feature that I thought would be really cool for storytelling is for sims to create a business website! Before your sims can do that, they'll need to purchase a Domain! They'll need to access this on the Computer.

Once the domain has been purchased, your sims can do some website management like designing the company's logo or provide customer support.

To make things a bit challenging (or fun however you want to view it) I've created an interaction for sims to Schedule Website Maintenance.

You won't be able to access any of your website stuff while the website is down and the outsourced Techs are working on it.

There's a chance that the maintenance will go smoothly. But there's also a chance it won't and your sims will get a popup asking if you want the techs to continue working on the site as normal or pay an expedition fee for instant access. If you have Programming Skill Level 5+ you can DIY!

CRUNCHING THE NUMBERS

Before I go into this part, I want to give a HUGE shoutout to Tasha for helping me with this part of the mod! Be sure to send her all the love and support on her patreon!

Sims can now have a seperate business account and this is completely base game! You can transfer money from your household funds to the account and transfer the money out or transfer to your sims' business funds (if you own GTW, Dine Out or Cats and Dogs).

Be sure to set up an account first!

DIGITAL COMMERCE 

Your sims can now open their very own online storefront! Thanks to the Outside the Box Company, Sims can freely create their own storefronts and sell various items online and make some simoleons!

To get started, sims will need to open their storefront first

Which grants them access to being able to sell their items whenever they want! This was a bit of a challenge for me but I think i covered a good amount of items for your sims to be able to sell online. The Computer version will take items that are actually in your sims personal inventory.

But don't worry, Out the Box Inc. understands sometimes there are products that might not fit in your personal inventory, so I've added an interaction on eligible items that your sims can sell as well! To make it easier, this will only be available when the store front is open so don't worry, you won't randomly sell that family heirloom by accident.

Speaking of, yes your sims will be able to close their storefronts as well! There are no time limits for when you want to operate your online business, so if your sim is an early bird or they're a vampire only trying to make some extra simoleons at night, you can do so as you well!

ADVERTISING

Want to increase your sales? You can select an advertising package and your sales will increase! Each advertisement package offers time limited boosts.

Sims will get a notification when the advertisement is over with!

A WORK EVENT

Decided to venture out to working more on Social Events and this mod gave me the best excuse to do so with the new Business Launch Party! Sims with the small business owner trait can throw this event and invite sims over for this formal affair!

Have your sims entertain their guests, drink, eat food and most importantly: Collect Donations for the Business Fund!

(Note: If the Ask Donations Interaction doesn't show up be sure to introduce your sim to their investors first)

Some sims will be happy to open their wallets for you

Others...might not be so generous with their money

Sims who host a successful Business Launch event will earn a milestone!

If you do not see the event, please be sure your sim has the Small Business Owner reward trait!

DLC Support

My idea for this mod had some of the DLC packs in mind as a way to help them in various ways.

Sims can register their business type online

When sims go on a Business Seminar they'll earn things like Retail Bucks or Vet Bucks and they'll earn Sales skills as well! These are helpful and in some cases, essential to running any of these DLC businesses!

INTERVIEWS ARE STRESSFUL

That's right! I wanted to add a little something different and created a small interview system! There are a few things that I need to go over so please bare a few things in mind about how this works!

First things first, your sims will need to have owned a business type (i.e. Retail, Vet Clinic or Restaurant).

To start the interview, have your sims go to the Plan Social Event tab

Then Select the Interview Type you want to do (Note: If you don't own the DLC, the event should not show up)

After that, choose where you want to do the interview to get started! You'll need to introduce yourself to your potential employees (I believe you can invite up to 3 at a time) and that'll open up the Interview Tab found under Business Casual. From there you can do things like Ask about recent job, talk about job expectations and question if the sim you're interviewing why they want to work for you! You'll also learn a sims' trait or a random skill!

And yes as a special bonus, you get to hire on the spot!

SPECIAL WARNING: I CANNOT stress this part enough! When hiring during this event, please be sure you have room on staff (I.E. you have enough employee slots Found under "Manage Employees" tab). If you have any limited spots and try to hire beyond the limit, it WILL cause issues!

That is why the limit for the event is 3 employees. So that you can choose who you want to hire and most of the businesses have only 3 employee slots! So be sure not to go over that.
