Yes Veronica is probably not over Duncan, especially since he broke up with her out of nowhere with no explanation at all, but she probably has other things that are causing issues for her. Like her best friend and his sister being murdered, her dad being run out of office as the sheriff because he thought Jake Kane killed his own daughter, until somebody else was arrested for it, her mother left and was recently possibly with Jake Kane in a hotel and Veronica was sexually assaulted at a party after being drugged, the new sheriff didn't care about it and people at the school made up rumors about her sleeping around, all of which probably cause some intimacy issues, trust issues and problems letting people in. The reason kids like Logan call Veronica trailer trash is because he and a lot of other students are very rich, there's a very big class divide in Neptune, it is described as a place with no middle class only the millionaires and the people who work for them. I've always thought this was an alright episode, it's slow for sure, but I still think it's well written, the actor who played Duncan did a good job of playing his character kind of numb on his medication, then reckless and starting to feel a lot when he abruptly went off his meds and then back to the numb when he decided he didn't like having his feelings come back and that he was thinking about his sister again, also for 2004 this was a pretty progressive episode. Great reaction, I look forward to the next one.
