2026-01-17 09:58:47 +0000 UTCI think the idea of setting the show in a teaching hospital was genius; sure they are using professional medical lingo that might not make sense to us, but by having them explain procedures to medical students, or asking them what they would do and why, give the audience a little more context to what's going on. One personal anecdote from this episode; several times Robby asks the family to step outside so he can deliver bad news. That's such a common thing in hospitals; respect the patient by stepping out, but inform the family. Problem is, they act like the door isn't still wide open and the patient can hear them. When my gran was dying, they did just that; asked us to step out so they could tell her her diagnosis and prognosis (which was just a few days at most). Testament to my grans amazing wit and humor, even on her death bed, she yelled from inside the room "I might be dying, but I'm not deaf!" So whenever I see Robby doing that, I think fondly of my granny lol.
