This is the first set that I've shot in my new place. I think I had been here maybe 2 or 3 weeks, and was still feeling really unmotivated artistically. This was totally unplanned. It was late. I looked over an just really liked how my new lamp looked, and the soft light that it gave off. So, I grabbed my camera and stripped down. I feel like that's how a lot of my self portrait sessions start. I'm just really inspired by a space and how it feels, and I want to be in it. Often, it's the light that draws me in. I'm owning a new space here, and getting to know it intimately. I'm so grateful that I finally have some peace and privacy again. And thankful to be feeling some sort of creative flow again.
I absolutely love the light here and how the shadows fall on my body. Funny thing is that this is the roll where I mixed up my films and thought that I was shooting Kodak Ultramax 400, but was really shooting Gold 200. I've done this before, but it was intentional and I adjusted the exposure to accommodate the film speed. So, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how well these turned out. The first image is my favorite. I'd love to know which one is yours.
