Old work part 2 - Finding the light

These two sets are from late last year and early this year- I was shooting a lot in my room and experimenting with light, both natural and artificial. I much prefer natural light and loved that I got so much of it in my bedroom. I was also still in the early stages of using my self timer and learning how to light and frame myself properly. There was no concept. Just light and experimentation. I never posted these sets because I didn’t think that they were really any good. At least not good enough to share with others. But the more I shoot, learn, grow as an artist, and connect with other artists and my community, I learn that it really is about the journey. And there is so much value is sharing your journey with others.

The imperfection of film is what makes it so much more lifelike. It captures the beauty in the imperfections. It’s more true to life in that way over digital.

I was trying to line it up perfectly but film and perfection don’t seem to go together lol. Thank you for being here to share them with 😊

Thank you so much!! I actually almost cropped that one to post on my IG but never did. I love the way the light hits me.

I love the way the light lines up next to your spine. And seeing your early work is very personal, seeing where you started and how you’ve grown as an artist is incredible. Thank you for sharing these with us.
