Oh man, we’re finally here! I loved hearing your theories. Won't spoil anything, just know the next episode is fantastic. Total mind-bender. They've been subtly hinting at it all along! One example is when Nadia (the student that discovered the key) talks about the theory behind "whodunits", Trust me it's a fantastic rewatch once you catch the clues. Heads up: the first 20 minutes? Devastating. I'll answer your question about Kate's father, Tom Lockwood. Regardless of what might be going down right now, this guy is illuminati-tier rich, but Rhys Montrose isn't a man that he could easily control or buy off. They've said on past episodes Rhys is known for being an idealistic man, and if he won he was on track to expose the corrupt ecosystem Lockwood thrives in. With access to almost limitless money and zero morals, Lockwood digs up Joe's true identity, and sees the perfect tool for the dirty job (killing Rhys Montrose). Rhys has always been on Kate's social circle, that much is true, so Lockwood figures Joe already knows the guy and can get close to him without raising suspicion. That's all Lockwood knows. Joe is just a tool he can use without getting blood on his hands.
