Film has given me a new lens to see myself through and truly embrace and appreciate my own body, every unique flaw and all. 5 years ago, I would have never shown my body like this. Probably even 2 years ago, I couldn't have shown my body like this. But I didn't see myself the way I do now, and I didn't love my body then the way I do now, I honestly think that film has given me such a huge gift in a stronger sense of self, and allowed me to be more more present in my body.
I'm really proud of the double exposure. Besides the framing being off in general, it was pretty much exactly how I saw it in my head. I wanted to capture the dual dynamic of the femininity of roses and the female form. I was actually inspired by one of my favorite female artist who is a photographer turned sculptor. She just made this incredibly beautiful female floral torso sculpture, and I was so inspired to recreate it in a photograph. I included the cropped and unedited versions.
More coming SOON :)
