Not only because I was co-creating with another artist, but I was out of my comfort zone as far as my normal shooting style. I drew inspiration from Ancient Egyptian burial ceremonies, the huge role that Goddesses played in the culture, and the central belief in the afterlife. I've always had such a fascination with the culture and time period so this shoot was actually really fun for me. I really wanted to capture the beauty that I personally hope comes with the darkness of death....the truth that our soul is just going somewhere else for the next little while.
