I thought the "I'm gonna be a dad" line was funny and maybe a little sweet, but I can see how it could be considered cringey. Yeah, they did kind of sidestep Jesse, other than a brief, oh, yeah and Jesse too line, hopefully they figure that out.

2025-05-22 13:58:22 +0000 UTCI thought this was a great episode, I liked the introduction of Isaac at the beginning with Jeffrey Wright reprising his role from the game. I like the random Josh Peck, from Drake & Josh and a lot of other things, cameo as the guy doing the whole monologue about Greenberg at the beginning of the episode. I thought the episode had some really intense moments. I loved the scene when Ellie was singing, I also liked the scene with Ellie telling Dina she's immune, I feel like she didn't tell her immediately because it wasn't the first thing on her mind, with the adrenaline and everything, it was getting out of there alive, making sure they were in a safe place and that Dina was alright, she wasn't even thinking, I need to tell her I'm immune. She's been immune for years and been bitten many times before, she's kind of used to that and honestly probably more used to not telling people she's immune. But I did like how they shot that scene when she told her, how they had the flashlight in front of Dina's face, until Dina believed her and than told her own secret. It did seem a little sudden that right after that they suddenly had sex, but it also kind of makes sense, again with the adrenaline, near death experience, Ellie putting her life on the line for Dina, the secrets being revealed, Dina thinking Ellie was gone, but then suddenly she wasn't. Great reaction, I look forward to the next one.

2025-05-22 13:49:41 +0000 UTCThis was a good episode. Well at least until the ending. Putting the game aspect in the show is always a plus. Damn near all of the action set pieces were from the game. The movie theater part was a lil head scratching for me. Ellie waiting to tell Dina she’s immune. Dina wanting to have sex after the reveal. Them basically acting like Jesse doesn’t exist. Something they didn’t do in the game. Ellie was just as worried about getting the baby back to jesse. Also the “I’m gonna be a dad” line. It was a tad cringey. They’ve changed Ellie a lot in the show. She’s dumbed down to build up Dina. Dina is great. They were equals in the game intellectually but Ellie is just more emotional and vengeful. Kudos to the production team though. Everything looks like the game. It’s kind of crazy. Happy to see my guy Jeffrey wright reprise his role as Isaac too. Loved his introduction. I think Y’all will like the next couple eps.
