Man this one is so dark! Jack has had to make so many sacrifices throughout the show, but having to sacrifice his own grandson, and his relationship with his daughter is brutal, especially coming out of him just losing Ianto. I think the reason this series stands out so much is that it isn't afraid to go to the real dark but honest places. All to often shows and movies are like "you can't take our children so NOW we are going to step up and stop you." This show said "we don't see an alternative, you WILL get 10% of our children" and "I have to sacrifice my own grandchild to save millions" (classic trolley problem). The unfortunate reality is that any government will sacrifice the few to save the many. So glad you enjoy this series. And if I'm hearing you say this out loud, there's a big chance I ended up sponsoring series 4 lol.
