Robbie was massively successful pretty much everywhere except the US for some reason. He actually lives in the US and is well known in the industry, but just didn't secure a fan base here. That being said he had the biggest record deal in music history at the time which is crazy to think. I was a fan of his back in the day and have seen him in concert a few times, but I didn't realize at the time how much he was struggling behind the scenes. The last time I saw him was just before I moved to the US, I managed to secure tickets to an "intimate concert" in a smaller venue. I think it might have been shortly after his stint in rehab so I'm sure he was more comfortable playing to a small audience, but it was still just as electric of a performance. He was actually so popular that at one point he was one of the leading favorites to be the next James Bond. He did a duet with Kylie Minogue and another with Nicole Kidman.

2025-05-03 02:41:13 +0000 UTCI only knew who Robbie Williams was because my mom loves the song Angels, so I listened to that song a lot, I heard some other songs of his as well, until he made a music video where he took his skin off, my mom wasn't a fan of that one and so I didn't really pay much attention to him after that. So I didn't really know anything about his life, I heard about this movie because it was a musical and directed by the director of The Greatest Showman. But I was a little thrown off by the choice to be a monkey, so I wasn't sure I wanted to watch it. But when I was watching After Midnight, the host Taylor Tomlinson kept talking about how great it was, so I decided to watch it and I thought it was really well done. I thought I had to sponsor it, hoping you both would like it as well. I know he wasn't that big outside of the UK, I think Angels was one of his biggest hits, so I was a little surprised RJ didn't know that song, but also surprised that Jrabbit knew so many, which was great. Great reaction, I'm glad you both enjoyed it so much.
