Apologies for the delay, we didn't sleep at all yesterday with the stress of everything. But we're safe and only lost power for a few hours.
RJ is already out in the field working on repairs and is scheduled to work overtime through Monday. We'll get back to reactions as soon as he is able to come home on time.
How did everyone else fair?
Additionally, thought I would share this story I posted on our socials last night...true story..lol I attached a video I took earlier in the day as well.
Something light amidst the stress of Milton...
A lizard came into our house and RJ legit was never going to relax until we found it.
While he was outside checking the weather, I found it running into our bedroom. So I called Jaylen to come and catch it. Which he did.
But then we saw something wiggling on the carpet and I was like "OMG is that a fish??!"
I've been anxious because the pond is breaching our fence and getting closer to the house.
So I run outside to get RJ, 1) to surprise him that we (Jay) caught the lizard, and 2) that we have a baby fish in our room
Rafael comes into the room and says...
"That's not a fish, that's the lizard's tail...Jay must have cut it off by accident when he caught it with the bowl"
Lizard's fine...I'm humiliated lol

I live in a typhoon prone country so I feel you guys on that stress: worrying about your family, worrying about your house and your things, unable to sleep or relax because you’re always watching for the rising water, running through a checklist to do and to pack. Our house has been flooded twice up to the chest and we’ve had to evacuate, then return to so much property damage, losses both financial and sentimental (the more important kind of material loss). That kind of experience is truly traumatic. I’m so glad you guys didn’t have to go through that. Hilarious story about the lizard. I’m with RJ on that — I just can’t do lizards or frogs lol. Good thing your kids are okay with them. I too have designated catchers lmao.

If you want another funny story to lighten your spirits, the BBC had to issue an apology after accidentally pushing out a weather forecast saying there would be hurricanes across the world with wind speeds over 10,000 MPH 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️.
