Another honorable mention from my list of people that have traveled with The Doctor is of course, my favorite, River Song. RJ called the sonic sonic screwdriver she used in the library. And JRabbit, River's time-line is "timey-wimey" but watch that video SeeJay sent you it is beautiful and puts things in order.

For someone who hates goodbyes the doctor sure is packing plenty of them into a short period of time. We always knew there would have to be another episode with River since the screwdriver she had in the library was different from Matt Smith's. This finally brings her story full circle, going from the version of the doctor that knows everything about her to the one that doesn't know anything in their next encounter. Her speech about the doctor after she's spent the whole episode up to that point acting so aloof about him and like he's not that special is so sweet. The moment she realizes he's been there the entire time is so satisfying. Can't wait to see what you think of the next episode.

A sonic trowel, that's ridiculous...who would ever think of something like that, I wonder. River "Are you thinking", me "Yep, he's being a real thinker". Suicide Squad jokes. The first time I was watching this episode, I actually wasn't sure if I loved it, I was happy to see River Song again, kind of loved seeing the Doctor be jealous and there were a lot of funny lines, but it also seemed a little to silly with the big robot and all the chaos, I was going back and forth thinking, I do like it, no I hate it, then River made her big speech and I thought, yep, I love this episode. Everything with River and the Doctor was fantastic in this episode and I loved that their one night was 24 years. I didn't really know Greg Davies at the time I watched this, I hadn't and still haven't seen Taskmaster, but since then I have seen him in a few others things, including a comedy series with Andy Samberg, so now when I see the episode, I find his stuff a lot funnier. Great reaction, I'm glad you both loved it so much and I look forward to the next one.

Absolutely lovely episode and reaction. I just gotta say though, since you both started reacting to Taskmaster, I have been waiting for this one episode just for that Greg Davies appearance. I've seen the episode so many times, but man, River's speech about the Doctor gets to me every time.

Just to add, AGES ago JRabbit said something about wanting to see Rivers story in chronological order, and I've been sitting on this YouTube video ever since lol. Finally I get to share it with you https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HDrYa8GG2ac

River Song's first appearance in series 4, when she sacrifices herself at the end of the episode; "Funny thing is, this means you've always known how I was going to die. All the time we've been together, you knew I was coming here. The last time I saw you, the real you, the future you, I mean, you turned up on my doorstep, with a new haircut and a suit. You took me to Darillium to see the Singing Towers. What a night that was. The Towers sang, and you cried... You wouldn't tell me why, but I suppose you knew it was time. My time. Time to come to the library. You even gave me your screwdriver. That should have been a clue." 😭😭😭 When I had a chance to meet Alex Kingston at a Doctor Who convention back in February I went to a script reading session. They used this episode script, but instead of her reading it, she ended up pulling audience members up to act the scenes with her as director. Except she would direct it totally over the top, it was frickin hilarious 🤣. We did all get a signed copy of the script too, which I have framed. Such a cool experience. I like that River's tone was different in this episode. We usually see River being cheeky, but also trying to behave in front of the Doctor. She knows he doesn't approve of killing, or fraternizing with the bad people. But here, we see what River really gets up to when the Doctor isn't around. She was more than happy to scoop that Diamond out of the King's brain, dead or alive. She was on her way to sell it to anyone with enough money, no questions asked. I'm so glad that Steven Moffat decided to give us a bit of closure on River though. It's been a while since we saw here, and her story had never really felt finished (even although we knew how she dies). The only thing I dislike is the spoiler title "The Husbands of River Song" so I'm really happy that didn't get spoiled for you. Looking forward to the next one.
