Now this is the X-men I remember reading as a youngin. The E is for extinction comic was a wild one. It was actually worse than it was in the show. Like 16 million mutants died that day. They changed who did it in the show though. Cassandra nova was the culprit in the comics. If u don’t remember the name, she’s the one in Deadpool & Wolverine. Charles’s twin sister. She’s a lot more sinister and hateful in the comics. I guess since the movie used her they had to change it in the show. Sucks my boy gambit had to bite the bullet but it made for an awesome ending. Cool they tackled something this mature. Knowing their audience are all grown now. I do Feel like I should clarify something from the reaction. The guy with Emma frost at the party that was talking to magneto, was Sebastian shaw. He was the guy Kevin bacon was playing in first class. I think RJ got him confused with vandal savage from DC. Since he said he was alive a long time. They look alike so I get why he thought that. I didn’t watch the other reactions so I thought y’all knew cable was cyclops and Madelyn son. They say his name in the ep where he’s born but I guess y’all didn’t know it was Nathan.

2024-08-07 02:18:04 +0000 UTCI gotta say. Sometimes it’s really annoying to be a Gambit fan. He hasn’t been used since the original 90s cartoon and never even got a chance to shine in ANY of the X-Men movies. But when they FINALLY bring him back and use him, they kill him off! Like what the hell?! You couldn’t have just killed Morph? Nobody gives a shit about Morph! I’m kidding of course (but not really). This episode was a masterpiece. The climax of this episode is insane. We had assumed with how easily the Sentinels were killed in the first episode that they weren’t a threat anymore, but now we realize that Jean’s vision in the first episode weren’t for those Sentinels but the one we saw on Genosha. Huge props to the writers for pulling the rug out from under us with that reveal. Rogue and Gambit have always been my favorite X-Men couple and this was such a heartbreaking ending for the two of them. The fact that Rogue finally chooses Gambit over Magneto only to never be able to tell him was so sad. Lenore Zann and AJ Locasio did a fantastic job as the characters. Also fun fact: Cable is voiced by Chris Potter in this, where in the original 90s show he was the voice of Gambit. This is actually a common trend in the show. The actors for characters like Storm, Wolverine, Rogue and Beast are the same, but some of the other original actors are now voicing new characters, like the original voice of Morph now voicing the President and the original voice of Jubilee playing her older video game counterpart in the previous episode. I love how this show didn’t just throw away some of the original actors who weren’t asked to reprise their characters. It would have been so easy to just hire popular voice actors, but they actually took the time to reach out to the original people and brought them on to play supporting characters. This is the episode that got the show nominated for an Emmy. I really hope it wins. It honestly deserves it. Great reaction as always and looking forward to the next one.
