2024-07-07 20:38:20 +0000 UTCSorry that other comment got so long. I got a lot of X-Men feelings lol. I also love Nightcrawler. Probably my 4th favorite. I mean, how can anyone not love him? He's charming, funny, got an awesome design, and such a cool power. I hope we get him in the MCU as the funny, vibrant character that he is. I mean, I loved Alan Cumming and his Nightcrawler looked so cool but personality-wise, he was very different. RE:Nightcrawler movie, okay that's hilarious. But you know what, Jake Gyllenhaal actually wouldn't be a bad Kurt. EVOLUTION FTW! I loved that cartoon so much. One of the few shining lights for the X-Men during the 2000s. Probably escaped the Marvel mandate to ruin the X-Men by virtue of it being made just a little too early for the rot to spread. They did cancel it which is a shame. Also has my favorite version of Logan. I think he works much better as a mentor than someone creepily lusting after a 19-year-old (how old Jean was when they met in the comics) and continues to lust after her even when she's married. Also, Goth Rogue might be my favorite version of Rogue. Excellent version of the X-Men all around.

2024-07-07 18:41:14 +0000 UTCCyclops, Storm, and Jubilee. Storm is just awesome and as an Asian kid, I always kind of related to Jubilee. But let me talk about Cyclops, one of my favorite characters in all of fiction, for a bit: I've been in love with Cyclops since I was 7, lmao. I was so upset by how badly they portrayed him and used him in the Fox movies just to prop up Wolverine (who doesn't need propping up as he's a great character on his own) -- despite having perfect casting in James Marsden! In comic-canon, Scott is supposed to be the ultimate leader of the X-Men and of mutantkind as a whole. Like, he's genuinely as great at leading and strategy as Captain America, not just some wet blanket who's an obstacle between Jean and Logan's epic love story (a love story that's never been a thing in the comics unless it's some edgy AU lol). He and Storm were both wasted in the movies. Then the 2000-2010s X-Men comics became the saga of Marvel trying to ruin them to make them an unattractive property (since they couldn't get the rights back from Fox) because they wanted to push the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This whole period was the darkest time for X-Men comics as Marvel tried to minimize/villainize mutants in their stories (aside from Wolverine) and having Cyclops be their posterboy for this. I won't say any spoilers for that whole timeline because they might do those stories in Xmen 97 or future MCU movies, but basically mutants had their backs in a corner, Cyclops as their leader had to make hard decisions, and Marvel's mandate to ruin the X-Men by trying to write him as a "villain" failed spectacularly, giving birth to the meme/slogan #CyclopsWasRight. So I was very happy that X-Men 97, a revival that I didn't expect at all, finally did right by him after like two decades of Marvel shitting on him. He felt like the leader he should be, he had a compelling personal story, and they portrayed his optic blasts brilliantly. He even had a relatively good relationship with Logan, which is always what I prefer for them. This gives me hope that when the X-Men finally enter the MCU, they'll finally do him and the other X-Men right -- a TEAM, instead of Wolverine and Friends.

2024-07-07 11:19:38 +0000 UTCI made it to you-know-who (lol I feel like I'm talking about a tiny blonde Voldemort) but it was too little too late for me, esp since I had also been getting tired of Sheldon. I did watch the finale which was nice and later looked up a clip of that sweet Howard scene at the hospital so I'm glad he did become better. But I was just not willing to endure so many more episodes of Howard being Howard and Sheldon being Sheldon lol. That said, it's still one of those iconic shows that deserve attention. Also I ended up watching Young Sheldon out of curiosity and loved it. It's not a show suitable for reaction channels but a family story that eventually ended up being something I liked much more than TBBT.

2024-07-06 20:55:40 +0000 UTCThere was someone in the private chats (not sure if you were in the private chats) who more or less seemed to accuse people saying why didn't you all vote for Gen V instead of The Boys (in my view it got a little aggressive with how sudden they just said it).. Some people were saying that they didn't have to like a prequel to like the show and someone else was saying that they just liked The Boys. So I really don't think that people would agree to stopping the reactions to the show but I mean, it's up to you when to watch the reactions to each. I'm also right there with you. I'm kind of sick of Big Bang Theory getting soooo close to winning last month and then it performed terribly on the pulse poll which was surprising to me. I'm also kind of tired that there have recently been only like three or four shows they've been reacting to which I actually want to watch, just personal things. I have a feeling X-Men is going to win, which would be my second choice personally, but it does get a little frustrating when the show you really want is so close but doesn't win

I don't think Gen V was anywhere near as popular as The Boys and a lot of people probably skipped it but obviously if it got into this tie breaker there are a decent amount who want it. From a reaction stand point it would be better to watch it first if it did end up getting in here. (Doesn't look like it will) But yeah you are 100% right.
