Short story for next week is spicy

Okay...so I have a confession. I won't finish this short story for next week. I'm not sorry though, because this story is becoming a monster! It's turning into a novella. 

Right now, the piece is at 12,000 words and 25 pages. There are a lot of formatting reasons why its a little bit longer than it should be for its word count, but 12,000 words is still a lot. By comparison, most of the posts I make for short stories tend to be around 6-9k, I think. Novel chapters tend to be between 4-7K. I think those word counts are good ranges for digestible narratives. I know I'm writing erotic stuff. Honestly, if I had more time and was more skilled, my posts would be shorter. There's a famous quote about that...

"If I had more time, I would have sent you a shorter letter." 

Brevity for equal satisfaction is a skill that requires higher degrees of training. If potty training is any indicator for my abilities, short pieces might be a long way's off.

But 12,000 is long, especially because I think that might just be 40% of the total story. And that's a high estimate for completion. 

So, I'm going to post an 8000 or so 'chapter' of the story next week. While I really want to have a short story 'done' every other week, I think that's probably an unreasonable expectation that might detract from me always posting the best stories I can. Some stories are just longer, and if I shy away from doing them just to only post 'finished' stories for short story Tuesdays, I'd be avoiding some pretty awesome projects. 

Anyway. I think this 8000 word chapter is going to be a good and satisfying component of the greater piece, and it should be very enjoyable on its own. If I didn't tell you that there was more, you might actually think it's done. 

It's very different for me prose wise, as well as theme wise. I would say that this is one of the more traditionally kinky stories I've written, though there are ABDL undertones. I expect those undertones to feature more strongly in upcoming chapters.

I hope you enjoy and forgive me for an unfinished story. It's still the same amount of stuff. You'll see that I am definitely not dragging out content for more posts with less work.
