I don't see why it would need to be the case that it could predict the future perfectly just because it experienced past reigns to some extent. That said, the zodiacs seem to remember past loops like dreams, and so does Simon from before becoming overlord. Presumably the light megalith has similarly some connection to the past reigns.

That Cleric Crestone looking pretty neat now. 😅 Do you think the magalith would be offended?

Strange. If he keeps some of his light authority from past paladin lives it would need to only have a partial memory of those lives else the light could predict him and the future perfectly. It seems like everywhere the light can sense the world perfectly as it is and make prophecy and the dark is capable of remembering the time travel of the crimson throne. The crimson thrones creation is a massive gameboard flip against the light.

Simon nearly forgot he tries to be good and just help people even as an overlord. You are still you and not just the overlord

would you believe me if I tell you that computers existed before the existence of computing machines? Computer is an old word denoting a person performing calculations as a focus of their job.

Thanks for the chapter!
In the chronomancy book, you used „compute“ maybe use „calculate“? It would probably fit better. I don’t think computers exist in that world :D

That could have fascinating implications for empowering others. Simon could give the paladin creststone to someone, providing an enhanced connection to the light megalith that carries over through reigns

beloved by the light: Mastemo, Euphemia, Nobele, Simon. One of them is psycho, one is viper, one is demonically connected priest, and one is the overlord. Not to get too conspiratorial, but the light seems to have very poor choice in beloved subjects. Are the manalit and the crimson throne related somehow?

Simon seems to forget he killed his father as the Paladin more than once.

I already found this church suspicious with that Confessor who seemed familiar to Simon-Overlord and that archdemon in the basement, but now you're telling me that the Light gives blessings to the Overlord, the champion of Darkness? Yeah, something fishy is going on here.

I like how you think. But at best we have to assume Anthemic Secrecy is an umbrella term for all things anti- divination. As the ability to make fake stats wouldn't be explained by strictly time travel based powers.

Lucifer/lightbringer was a false title satan used while pretending to be the messiah, but that is a rarely known fact. So Jesus would be the true Lucifer/lightbringer in christian myth.
I think Simon is beloved by the light (as shown by him being becoming a paladin originally) and the overlord class is just hiding his light affinity to push him towards darkness.

The Minotaur could perceive the past reigns and he is only one of twelve, who themselves are only small shards of the Dark Comet, wich now that i think of it is probably a Dark Megalith. Makes sense that the Light would be aware of Simon throughout his reigns.

Maybe the Light knows Simon was destined to be the Paladin if it wasnt for his father's meddling.

Maybe Anathemic Secrecy is a by product of the reigns. If divination relies on knowing the past then predicting the Overlord is impossible because there are multitude of past that all clash with each other.

Everyone before me is assuming that the megalith remembered Simon. I am also of the same mindset.
But wouldn't it be funny if the megalith is going, "Wow, he's such a nice guy, I like him."
Only to be bambolazed when he turns into the Overlord?😅Alternatively, it might not be that the magalith remembers him, rather they are just computer-like entities that read data. And somehow data of Simon from the erased futures is lying around. The computer doesn't care, it saw the authorizations that were granted to Simon as a Paladin and is acting accordingly.

He received the Paladin creststone in at least a few of his fathers reigns, so that makes sense.

this whole is good with light and dark reminds of star wars legacy funny enough with how Cade is refered to as the Darklight of the force that being said Simon far more put together then Cade was.
wonder if the time wizard draining a manatree is a referance to wakfu the guys name sounds very similar

So the light/visionary powers are about seeing the inevitable future and planning accordingly.
And the dark is about subverting divination and fate.
We also know that mana combined with dark leads to more potent effects. What happens when you combine A light/mana time spell with a dark time spell? A kabooom probably...... but if not?

At the end of the day he is still good person at heart, despite the overlord class out on him. While the previous users used it for their own greed…

I think innately Simon had a very strong affinity to the light, and not even the Overlord class could fully supress that.

I wondered before how Simon went from whoreson to Paladin in the reigns Balzam didn't kidnap him, but I guess this answers it.
If Balzam didn't take him away, he'd move with his mother and stepfather to where the unicorn people are, and would probably get in contact with prayer magic. Once his ability to cast overcharged light prayer spells is found out, they'd probably take him in and train him as Paladin

He was the paladin and the person who slew his father the overlord the most in past reigns. With how the light is described so far, I believe it can see past his overlord class and see into simons character and values. Or it has someway of seeing how simon would be beneficial to its machinations.

Crazy Thoery Time! I don't think his strong light powers are from some fuckery with anathema sorcery, but are more likely to have to do with original fate to be the paladin. Either way, an overlord capable of using light based prayer spells, how tastefully ironic.
