I appreciate the constructive gesture, but I don't think a little '/s' is going to cut it. The real problem was way upstream of that. It was absolutely brutal to hear my own words come out of Liz's mouth rendered with forced politeness and sheer bewilderment as Liz and Matt struggled to suss out in real time the precise admixture of stupidity and malice that gave rise to my question. Near as I can tell, Liz genuinely tries to embody the love of Christ while also remaining a 100% relatable real ass bitch. That's how she appears to me. To her I appeared as some sort of belligerent midwit, another voice in the undifferentiated mass of pissy critics and menacing sex pests that she’s had to deal with her entire internet life. I thought I was being chummy and cool, but instead, I managed to insult her. This is not a 'whoopsie daisy.' This is a cosmic indictment. I'm reevaluating my values and how I’m living my life right now.

For a lazy snack I’ve been just heating up chicken broth with some garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. (And if you use the low sodium chicken broth it would probably need some more salt.)

In American English, pho is often pronounced as "fuh" (like the "fu" in fun). Some people mistakenly pronounce it as "foe". However, the correct Vietnamese pronunciation of phở involves a bit more nuance, as it's a word with tone, which affects its meaning and sound. The correct pronunciation is closer to "fuh" but with a rising tone, like you're asking a question. Any pronunciation without the tonality is not the correct name for the dish in Vietnamese.

I intended the question as satire to poke fun at Liz’s critics, but when Liz responded sincerely about her advocacy for rape victims and others, I realized my question came across much more literal than I intended. When I wrote that question, I was imagining that we were engaging in playful banter, but I wasn’t considering the fact that you’ve dealt with truly awful people online for much of your professional career, and that you might take what I said at face value. I apologize for the misunderstanding, and I regret causing any discomfort.
