2023-06-06 19:13:09 +0000 UTCGreek Life will continue to be treated preferentially on college campuses as long as the alumni of various Greek houses are generous with endowment and use that as a bargaining chip. I don't think it will ever die actually - I think it will contract into fewer houses and condense into just the ones that tend to serve as networking for finance / consulting people, since those people more and more often will be the only folks able to give back to their college later in life. As long as those people are engaged in alumni endowment, their houses will survive. The ones that don't make money for the college will die as more GenZers grow up and get angry that they are racist, sexist, elitist, etc - the colleges are fine letting those run themselves down. And as far as sororities specifically - we'll get more girlbosses coming out of some of the "top tier" sororities (that are the richest, bitchiest, and scariest, and do the most coke) so those will survive. Similar thing with frats.
