Among the people I know who are in between qualifying for Medicare and qualifying for Obamacare, it's common to just over-report your income, to say you made a few thousand more than you really did, to get on the exchange. Type 1 diabetic friend is in this situation, he would just be fucked if he didn't do this. Our other senator ossoff joined Warnock and Bernie in supporting Bernie's amendment. I still don't understand why they didnt make medicare expansion mandatory when they passed Obamacare. Stupid fucking country.

But I really don't like this tendency among lefties in the US of seeing normal social evils, in this case public relish over the suffering of the guilty, as especially or uniquely American. Kieślowski's A Short Film About Killing is another really compelling anti-death penalty film.
