Hi Breunigs- I wondered if you'd seen this: https://www.washingtonian.com/2020/02/21/a-new-study-contradicts-a-washington-post-poll-about-how-native-americans-view-the-redskins-name/ There are actually a decent amount of Natives that find the mascot names harmful, so framing it as a paternalistic thing doesn't seem right. There are a lot of Natives you guys could have on the pod to discuss if you really care. Maybe Nick Estes or someone from Red Media or Illuminative. If not, I might just stop mentioning it or just mention that in your opinion it is stupid. In a previous episode you'd mentioned not knowing what to call Natives and what they like - it's different for all of us so you might run across someone that doesn't care if you call them Indian and then you'll find many people that do. I don't think that is wildly different from other cultures. Just some thoughts from a Chickasaw fan in Oklahoma.
