I'm curious if you see any contradiction between your views on the potential real-world effects of speech/"art" in the context of child porn (topic of recent episode) versus the attitudes expressed in this episode about comedy. I know in the former example you cited research showing a real-world effect, but in general there's plenty of evidence that what takes place on a cultural plane (thought, speech, media, art, etc.) does effect behavior. If you're going to argue that certain expressions are totally harmless, to me that seems predicated on some idea of separation between thought/speech and behavior, but the idea of that sort of separation to me seems untenable. Thoughts, speech, art, events, and behavior are always entwined and reinforcing each other. You can't act in a vacuum. You need something to motivate and orient your actions.
