They end with this genius Vic Berger video about Steve Harvey. In between they talk about the eviction moratorium and the weird discourse around it as well as the new right-wing culture war thing where they get super-mad at a certain kind of imagined childless urbanite in lieu of having actual family-supporting politics.

They’re not eating any shit. What policy are you advocating for that is going to make life any better after corporate America takes over the rental market.

2021-08-18 06:29:59 +0000 UTCI work in policy advocacy on tenant issues and I loved the discussion toward the end about who should “eat the shit” when the risks of being a rental owner come to fruition. Really laid out clearly why the role of “landlord” is so nonsensical the way these people get to do it, demanding to place a way disproportionate amount of the risk on tenants. Their whole justification for their ability to sit back and collect money falls flat. Great stuff.
