Then we move on to the sad and deranged vaccine apartheid type stuff coming from the right lately. Finally we talk gender and sports riffing on the USA Today piece and Nathan Robinson's response to it.

Loved the ep! I feel like there is a large gap in the sports discussion here when it comes to the effects of hormones on trans people's bodies. Matt mentioned it for a second with trans men being on T as basically a performance enhancing drug, but people don't often take into account the reverse, the effect of estrogen on a trans woman. Trans women lose massive amounts of muscle mass once (most ) of them go on testosterone blockers, and while there are often deep muscle tissues that stays, the bell curve that matt describes will be somewhere between cis men and cis women for trans women, meaning that a lot of the arguments around 'male bodied' people being in women's sports also tend to obscure the issue down to a sort of invented biological binary that doesn't actually reflect the differences in trans women's bodies
