Great episode with lots of practical advice! Regarding "do you need a doctor if the baby is sick," the most surprising thing to us was that babies get fevers with the common cold (not a common symptom in adults). So if your baby has a fever + cold symptoms (runny nose especially), yeah, as long as the fever isn't bad and they're otherwise OK, no need to worry. HOWEVER, if the baby has a fever + no other cold symptoms, PLEASE DO take them to a doctor. In our son's case, this was a symptom of a UTI which, untreated, could have led to sepsis. He ended up needing intravenous antibiotics and a four-night stay in the hospital under observation. Not really a big deal if treated, but could've been very bad if ignored.
