That coupled with cogs points of team identity, league wide turnover and loyalty (star players leaving in their primes, coaches being fired at crazy rates, etc), betting being forced down everyone’s throats with the new FanDuel rebrand for local streams, I mean it’s really so bad.

2025-03-25 20:29:32 +0000 UTCLocke’s view on being remembered definitely hit home for me. A couple years ago, I decided to cut ties with most of my friends. It became more stressful and depressing trying to be friends with some of them due to them just coasting. Rarely ever asking how I was, only seemingly talking when they wanted to talk about something surface level. I put forth a lot of effort to ask how everyone was and check in since we all have different schedules. Plus it’s good to just see how everyone is doing since, you know, they are your friends. There are some other things like some of them never growing up, but when I finally did cut the cord, with some room to leave things open, the one friend who was my best friend and knew about all of this stuff, entirely did a 180 and turned on me. This was also as I was going through the hardest part of my life. I definitely needed my friends, especially the one I was closest too, and they dropped the ball in every conceivable way. When Locke talked about how when his Dad had his accident and everyone disappeared, I felt that and lived it (not from an accident). It was pretty rough on my end and I still don’t have any close friends now. That being said, there is also a weight lifted because I’m not putting effort into people that didn’t put effort into themselves or show that they cared at all. Gets lonely at times and I still am trying to find some meaning but I’ve been able to focus more on my hobbies and got some new ones as well. My career has always been great and I’m in a great place with it. Learning new things and information and focusing on hobbies and health have been a renewed focus though. Locke said to cut ties with the people who show they don’t care about you, and he’s correct. It might be hard in the moment, but you will feel much worse about yourself when you put effort into people and don’t get the same energy back.

I implore you to watch another show that was cancelled after two seasons called Raised by Wolfes starring your new friend Abubakar Salim as an android called father. It’s amazing and a travesty that it was cancelled. Has tons of heady sci fi themes and centers around a religious war that destroyed planet earth and forced the survivors to search for a new home in a giant colony ship.

Big fish guest, lots of interesting info came out of it, and I was happy that he gave Colin his flowers by saying his questions were thoughtful and smart. Also not an LSM moment really, but all the fake LSM moments lock makes with his edits. It’s rare to audibly laugh at a video or be in tears, but god damn they’re so funny. I love the common threads of shitting on Dustin for anime or when someone says something and it just cuts to Colin with a serious, extremely judgmental look with silence for 5 seconds. The man clearly understands comedy and the timing that comes with it.

The way the community rallied around them and lifted them up made me proud to be a fan of LSM and showed all the talk about it being a toxic community is just that, talk.
