Sacred Symbols+, Episode 440 | Monster Hunter Wilds Spoilercast and Review Discussion

While the Monster Hunter series dates all the way back to the original in 2002 on the PlayStation 2, it wasn't until Monster Hunter World in 2018 that the series became a meteoric success, becoming Capcom's highest-selling game. The follow-up, Monster Hunter Rise, was a success in its own right, but wasn't quite the follow-up some Monster Hunter fans expected, originally releasing as a Switch and PC exclusive. Now with the release of Monster Hunter Wilds, fans have received a true successor to World on current-generation systems. So, was it worth the wait? I (Dustin) gathered my hunting crew to discuss! So join me, Brad, Ben, and special guest Brandon to go over Wilds in depth. Enjoy!

Hey guys, thanks for the episode. One thing I will say and people might have missed in that in the menus Info tab -> Play Guide -> Weapon Controls it exactly gives you every combo a weapon can do and every little detail and in depth info about each weapon. There is a bit of reading to do but the info is all there down to the iframes and guard points.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for this . Good to know that while similar ish they are so different and that’s exciting to know I’m not choosing between them; more like try one first then get into the other. Thank you!

Monster Hunter is more gear grind with open areas that had outstanding fighting game style combat. Dragons dogma is amazing adventure/exploration more traditional open world with awesome physics based positioning combat. They’re not really similar even though they look similar at a glance. They both have epic unscripted moments that will leave your jaw on the ground. I’ve had moments in both that are some of my all time gaming moments. I adore them both. It’s whatever you’re more in the mood for. Also dragons dogma is single player only though you can use other players pawns in your squad giving it a lord of the rings vibe! Monster Hunter is co op and wilds feels like skull island hunts with the boys! In my opinion they’re both absolutely incredible and will be even better once they get their expansions. Hope this helps!

Good call! I haven’t played either of their previous entries but something of calling me to them. The aesthetics are different and the gameplay seems different but I’m open to diving into them regardless. Good point I should wait for a sale of DD2and give it a try. Then give MHW a try after. Thanks

They are pretty different games, if you have equal interest in both why not go with DD2 first since you’ll probably be able to get it for $30 USD?

Need some LSM help; can someone tell me why f I should jump into Dragons Dogma 2 or MHW? Not many YT videos on comparisons but anyway just want my people to talk about it and I’ll make my decision in a week or two Thanks all

I don’t think the story was that bad (I like the semi sci-fi lean towards the end) but regardless of feelings on the story, the actual cut scenes introducing each monster were fantasticccccc
