There was one where there was some tension regarding who was being left what, but that's it. Maybe this stereotype has just died out in modern years or it's an Irish American thing, but I've never seen it anyway. What is a very true part of the stereotype is the wake being a bit more light hearted after the initial commiserations to family (outside of a particularly tragic wake, like a young person or multiple deaths) - a few drinks are had, funny stories told of the deceased etc. Often you're catching up with old friends. It's like a celebration of their life, which is a nice way for it to be. A tradition is that the body is never left alone for the duration of the wake(and a wake is often 2-3 days long), so the wake typically goes late and a handful of male neighbors/friends stay up throughout the night and talk shit lol

That being said, none of his singles has ever made me think "wow, how profound. This guy's a genius". Just sounds like generic rap to me.
