Hey Punching Up Crew, it seems as though DKC Returns HD takes the co-op from the 3DS version and is not like co-op was on the Wii version. In the HD and 3D ports, once one player hits an enemy, the other player cannot hit that enemy, which breaks co-op, as precisely jumping on enemies is vital to some levels, especially as you progress. This wasn’t an issue on the Wii version, since Retro Studios allowed enemies to briefly be touchable for a couple of frames (for lack of a better term), allowing a second player to jump on a defeated enemy. This feature made co-op possible and allowed it to run smoothly in levels in which jumping on enemies to progress was required. Do you think Nintendo will patch this, especially since this issue hasn’t been widely covered?

2025-01-27 21:05:34 +0000 UTCHey crew, I want to recommend a game to Micah called Ken Follet’s The Pillars of the Earth. You guys have spoken about how many listeners recommend random games that they love, but not necessarily games that they think YOU would enjoy. Well, The Pillars of the Earth is a point & click graphic adventure/visual novel style game. The art is gorgeous, the writing is excellent, the story is engrossing, and there are plenty of weighty choices to make that will come back to you down the line. If you look this game up you’ll notice a striking resemblance to Pentiment, which I believe Micah enjoyed. They are similar games, and I suspect Pillars was at least a little bit influential on Pentiment’s development. Lastly, as an avid reader, Micah might recognize Ken Follett’s name as he is a widely read author of historical fiction. Indeed, Pillars is an adaptation of a book of the same name. I’d go as far as to say this game is one of the best I’ve ever played and it is criminally overlooked. I recommend the whole crew check it out, but I think Micah specifically might love it. P.S., I’m not surprised Micah thinks Jafar is hot considering he is basically the cartoon version of Collin.

2025-01-27 18:58:19 +0000 UTCHey Punchers, If Switch 2 does indeed have mouse support, do you think there’s a chance that Valve would make a collection of Half-Life 1 and 2 for Switch 2? It would be cool to have Half-Life on a console for the first time. If I were Nintendo, it would be something I would push for because it sends a signal to players and developers that Switch 2 mouse support is the real deal and it is not just something you would use for simpler applications such as Mario Maker. Valve and Nintendo could even partner on the physical edition and include a mouse attachment for the joy con with every copy of the game. Much love to you all. Cheers!

Since the announcement of the Nintendo Switch 2, I stopped playing or even switching on (pardon the pun) the first Nintendo Switch. I don't hate the device nor disappointed with it, I just feel that if I wait a little bit longer (maybe until summer), I will play games via a better and more visually appealing device (Nintendo Switch 2) for a more worth it experience. I did the same thing with PS4 and PS4 Pro, but in this case, I feel a bit sad for the original Nintendo Switch devices as they were my travelling companions since 2018. Your thoughts please.

Sony and Microsoft will most likely have x86-based handhelds in the future, similar to the SteamDeck and ROG Ally. I'd guess Nintendo should have some advantages with battery life, comfort, and portability--both in their base console and future Lite versions. What say you? Keep fisting those bricks. Thanks! I work at an elementary school and told a 3rd grade and 5th grade class about the Switch 2 when it was announced. Hardly anyone was excited. They all don't feel the need to upgrade their Switch at all. I told about 5 teachers and all of them say their kids have abandoned the Switch they own. They are mostly on PC or VR now. Shout out to the kid who asked for a Japanese PS2 to exclusively play a Japanese Ultraman game. Back in the day my beloved Dreamcast was killed by the thought of the PS2. Strange times we live in.

I personally love it as my remote play machine for my series X. I just got all the achievements for rare replay and am now replaying lost odyssey on it through remote play. Also did you guys see the gooneral/vigil they held for the goonicide guy? They had goonicide candles and everything! Anyways keep them socks wet!

It seems like Nintendo put a muzzle on third parties to prevent any talk of switch 2 ports until the April direct. I can survive without news until then, but I question Nintendo's strategy this far into the reveal cycle to have 2 months of nothing.

The battery life is insane and the screen is really good looking for an LCD. I use it to stream games from my PC so I can play in bed. Anyways, just wanted to let you know how much I enjoy it!

2025-01-26 22:16:14 +0000 UTCEllo brick breakers, if you could take 1 IP or franchise from either PlayStation or Xbox and make it Nintendo’s what would you pick? All previous entries of that franchise would then be available on Switch 2 at launch. We may get this reality anyway but I’d pick Halo! Having all of those games on handheld plus expanding forge for the Nintendo audience with potential for Nintendo characters to be used (give Mario a gun finally?), seems likes a lot of fun. Love the dynamic of this group and the shows keep up the good work!
