Shame about the VR issues. When I started I got sick in like 10 min. I can do about 2 hours before I start feeling weird. Try brightness all the way down, and try 120fps mode as well.

I can attest to this. I used to get sick during VR, and now I raw dog everything with no comfort options on and can play for hours at a time. Played through RE4 and Village multiple times in VR and have loved it!

VR motion sickness is very common and often a tolerance that builds the more you use it. Turn 20 minute sessions into 30 and so on. Quit whenever the sickness comes. But your tolerance for it will absolutely increase

Dustin, you need to go to the NYC show. Loren Allred was there and performed No Promises to Keep. I was surprised when they said they played it as an instrumental every where else. While I wouldn’t expect her to be on tour at every location, I wouldn’t expect have thought they would have someone in the choir perform.

In regards to GTA6, I think $70 is thee price point it should release at for the base game. GTAV with everything it did at release in my mind was not worth the $60 I paid. I even went to a midnight release. The game felt disconnected and incomplete. I played Online like crazy when it was available. I waited for so long holding thinking the online heist would rectify my purchase. Unfortunately when they started to decrease the exp gain and nerfed a lot of stuff, I stopped playing entirely. I never got to play the heist so I don’t know if that one portion would have changed my mind. In the retrospect, I don’t believe that would have been the lynch pin for me to feel the price was justified. All I wanted from a west coast setting GTA was improved San Andreas, I felt I didn’t get that. I don’t see GTA6 doing anything ground breaking that other games have done that would justify it being the domino effect to raise prices. Like Chris said, the online portion with skins and cosmetics being the route to gain money and that’s not counting the ridiculous amounts of card sharks they sell. If they have it at reasonable cost of $70 for a standard edition at launch, they’ll get more people to buy and sucker them in with online. This should be the game that is affordable because of what it offers to so many gains them soo much more.

Having a strong fan hit you with wind is what solved my VR Nausea. A lot of it comes from your body not feeling any different while you’re supposed to be moving with so much momentum. Hope this helps!

I know they never show her father, I did finish the game but I could swear I remember seeing Sam Lake tweet something with a screen shot of Alex Casey and saying he and Saga Anderson are FBI agents looking for a missing writer, years ago. I do think they did. I don’t think she’s a bad character either way. I actually liked her a lot more than Alan to be honest (granted I think the writing in Alan Wake overall is cringy and bad - really not a fan of the series besides Control, which was much better).

Saga isn’t a character from Quantum Break, the closest analogue to anything QB in AW2 is Sheriff Breaker being a legally distinct reinterpretation of Jack Joyce, and Warlin Door being a reinterpretation of Martin Hatch. It requires a little bit of detective work, but “why is she black when her parents and relatives are white?” Is actually answered and makes a lot of sense within the context of the game. We’re only ever shown her grandfather, great uncle, and mother, who her father is is not visually shown to you but I promise it is in there. Think about characters in the game whose intentions are never fully revealed, and why they may have done what they did. There’s some dialogue and manuscript pages that give a little further lore and explanation too

Colin, when you’re playing VR standing up, are you still using the right stick to turn? I found this to be the biggest sticking point with motion sickness. When standing, I exclusively use the left stick, don’t even touch the right stick, and that alleviated most of my issues. Body turning is much more comfortable, but sadly can’t used for sitting sessions.

I really don’t understand what you guys don’t get about Concord. The characters sucked. And why is that? Because they were designed by people pushing these extreme views of people influencing designs and also revealing all of them with their pronouns. From the base level, they were designed with this in mind. This is honest criticism. a lot of games being called woke are being called woke because of their association with Sweet Baby Inc or companies like them. It’s really not hard to understand that’s the reasoning for it. You have to either not be looking at basic details or purposefully obfuscating (which I don’t think Colin or Dustin do). People calling everything woke that has woken or minorities in it are not woke. People that jump the gun and say that, really have no idea what they are talking about. Japanese RPGs have been diverse from at the very least the SNES and arguably the NES. Colin mentions Assassins Creed Shadows which is obvious as he mentions. I would also say even Alan Wake 2 with Saga. I’m pretty sure she was originally a white woman in Quantum Break. Why did they change her? It really didn’t even make sense given her parents and relatives in the game. It was just odd and comes off as just changing race to check a box. It has nothing to do with her being a woman or even her race in and of itself but the weirdness of how it seems forced into parts of the story. In regard to pricing on games - I think they would be fine being more expensive if we actually got games that were finished when they released. You can arguably get a game for half price 6 months later and it run better in every single way. If they are going to raise the price, this needs to be resolved. It’s kinda crazy with Insomniac having three people in charge. I mean, maybe one is more business and task oriented and the others are creatives but it’s still very odd. Sony is doing some fairly odd and extremely dangerous decisions lately

I think that the video game price increase discussion is so off base. Higher prices does not equal higher profits. A $20 game that sells 5 million units is better than a $70 game that sells 1 million. Video games are not a finite resource, and everyone has all the games they need to play. Prices should come down if anything. It's the studio's fault for not being able to control their costs.

Colin, if you don't want to do snap turns in VR, I do suggest moving the camera rapidly and blurring your eyes until you stop at the general direction you want. I think it simulates saccades, the rapid eye movements we do from focal point to focal point with blurriness in between. If you think about it, you're rarely turning your head without some aimed at focal point, but in VR it can be hard to latch onto a focal point if the frame rate isn't high enough.

I’ve been listening to ‘The Rest is History’ podcast for quite some time. It’s distinctly British, particularly in its humour and that’s a fantastic thing. Honestly, it’s hard to keep up with their output. Big recommend and I had no idea how big of a show it actually is. They’re currently covering Nazi Germany’s rise and the initial invasions of Poland. Super in-depth, lots of perspectives on both sides. Wojtek the Bear! Also as to the break-up. Let it hurt, but not for too long as life moves on and you have to as well, then get to work on yourself. Hit the gym, eat better, take some cold showers, learn a new skill, trust me, it works and you’ll be better for it. Be thankful for all that newfound time you’ll have not catering to someone that isn’t right for you. Use it as fuel to be a better man.
