Why did TLOU 2 need to be like 40 hours long? how about 15 hours and cut down on the cost and time to make it? Look at everything Remedy makes. Control cost 30 million to make. 30 MILLION. Nobody can say that game wasn't AAA quality and a good length at about 12-15 hours. I just don't buy this argument anymore that games just cost way to much these days. Sony’s games most likely cost WAYYY more than Nintendo’s to make. 1 successful live service game can fund a few more Sony first party games easily. To me, the bigger question is WHY is that Sony’s identity? I think most people don’t give a shit about top of the line graphics. Most people just want a fun game. Many people like myself miss the wacky Sony era.

Why can't Sony be that? Take all this wasted money and time, set up a bunch of new studios to make big and small first party games. Be happy with the tithe you are making from other live service games and do what you are best at. Like what is the selling point of the PS6? They are doubling down on the multi generation stuff now so if they don't have exclusives why would you buy a PS6?
