Sacred Symbols+, Episode 430 | The Sacred Symbols 2025 Fantasy Draft
Added 2025-01-11 17:00:12 +0000 UTCIt's time once more to conduct our annual fantasy draft for Metacritic scoring, this time for the year of our lord 2025. For the uninitiated, the rules are simple. Each of the three hosts of Sacred Symbols -- Colin, Chris, and Dustin -- select 12 games (for 36 total), thus constructing a 'team' of the presumably strongest upcoming releases. But not just any games will do; indeed, to be selected, a title must either be confirmed or reasonably assumed for launch within the 2025 calendar year, specifically on a PlayStation platform (whether that's PS5, PS4, or PSVR2). Seemingly arbitrary Metacritic averages will tell the rest of the story, and we'll update you on the results in one year. To that end, we likewise go over our selections for 2024, figure out who won and who lost, and update the historical standings, which will resonate throughout time. As a post-show stinger, we then welcome Summon Sign's Brad Ellis to the show in order to go over the results of our VGA betting special from this past December. The results may surprise you... and the consequences of losing are quite serious.

Valhalla was the most profitable game in the series and sold several million units. Why would all the people that liked that game suddenly not like the next entry?

I know on LSM, Matty aside, more recent entries have been characterized as a poor man's persona, but in truth they're so much more than that. In fact, the first five games were nothing remotely like Persona. Extending even further to the original Legend of Heroes trilogy, especially. One of these days, Dustin, I do hope you'll check them out. I really have a strong feeling you'd be into them.
