Yeah he got pretty defensive about it too. Some people (myself included) even avoid trailers because they don't want to know stuff; Colin has done that before for some games. He's a nice guy, but just save the spoilers for spoiler-casts, even seemingly minute ones

2024-05-31 14:29:25 +0000 UTCNah, Kingdom Hearts is complex. It constantly operates on the logic that the player will accept whatever the story tells them to accept without asking questions. Example: in DDD, 7 games into the series, the story randomly reveals that if you destroy someone’s Heartless and Nobody they will come back to life, with absolutely zero explanation as to why this happens. If you don’t just accept it at face value, the story falls apart. This is but one of MANY examples with KH as to what makes it complex. I like the series, but I don’t delude myself into thinking it’s well written or straightforward.

2024-05-30 19:35:26 +0000 UTCGreat show! I’ll add that if you like Paper Mario: TYD, check out South Park: Stick of Truth and to a lesser extent because it’s a strategy RPG, Fractured But Whole. Both are great RPGs that don’t demand a lot of your time.

Gene I was only giving shit! :) truly love this podcast and don’t really care that much about spoilers it was bound to happen I am late to the franchise! It is my fault for not being caught up! I don’t usually watch trailers specially in games I’m not caught up with yet. so this write in is kinda my fault as well I wasn’t quick enough to pause it last episode while at work then heard it! You guys are awesome gene your one of the best in the business!, Dustin I will stand down!, Micah great point about how kiryu it was unavoidable to get it!! lol 😂 thought that was really funny! Yakuza 3 I will be starting soon! 👍

Legitimately, it is madly unfortunate that this series' reputation has cost so many people great gaming experiences. Never thought I would get upset over KH hate/controversy but after replaying these games continually over the years, I am finally getting frustrated with the whole "tHe StORy iS tOo cOmpLICated" argument. If FF7 (original or retelling) makes sense - so can Kingdom Hearts. rant over.
