Once all wings report in, Commander Gene leads the squadron in a discussion about Star Wars video games, from the earliest titles to the most recent entries. With countless games released over the course of five decades, which Star Wars titles are the most fun, the most difficult and the most forgettable. Vice-Admiral Brad wants to get a few things off his chest concerning the Star Wars 'Special Edition' films. The 1997 rereleases of the original three Star Wars movies is a divisive topic, and Brad and company shoot first with some real talk about messing with perfection. Grand Moff Colin picks our brains about the man who started it all, George Lucas. Is the inventor of Star Wars a wizard or just a crazy old man? Finally, Darth Dagster shares his plan for how the Star Wars films should have gone after 1983's Return of the Jedi. He may finally get the chance to run the show over at Lucasfilm after this one.

The problem with Kathleen Kennedy is she isn't a creative person, but a money person. Kathleen has a long, successful history in Hollywood, but mostly in an executive producer or similar role. That role deals with financing and managing the finances of a film production. And she was very good at that. However she was placed in the head creative position at Lucas, which was a terrible decision. She is smart, but isn't a creative or story teller. Putting her in charge of the story direction of Star Wars was like putting a Bob Iger or Chepek in charge.

Please look at some Australian Aboriginals, they are very distinct looking, you won’t get them confused with any other race. Very concerning all 4 of you believed this. Sorry to say, this really just enforces the stereotype that Americans know nothing about other cultures or countries.

He also has a second video explaining how involved Lucas was with episode seven for about one year before he was pushed out by executives.

The Republic was so cool to me and imaging a time before that where there were dozen, even hundreds, of Sith out there is so cool. I also completely understand the hate for it, and the quaint galaxy of the OGs is nice.

2024-05-06 23:31:06 +0000 UTCI think the prequels are more beloved than the LSM hosts give them credit for. Particularly with those of us under 30 who were young kids when the prequels released. I recognize this could be nostalgia blindness but there's a lot about those movies that is genuinely great. The visual/audio design, the music, the lightsaber duels, many beautifully directed sequences. I was too young to notice the flaws in the dialogue and Anakin's acting or to take issue with story elements like midichlorians or Boba's origin. ROTS in the theater as a kid was probably the best moviegoing experience of my life. What's ironic is that I HATE the sequels passionately. TFA is my all-time most hated movie. For starters I hate the prospect of there being any great conflict after ROTJ because that ruins the happily ever after ending of originals. Then for them to kill Han on top of that was just salt in the wound. They basically undid all the arcs the returning characters go through in the original trilogy. I will also die on the hill that the overacting in TFA is more intolerable than Anakin's acting in the prequels. There has been a decent amount of good Star Wars stuff in the Disney era, though. I liked Rogue One, I love the Jedi games and Andor was fantastic. While I agree with Colin that it's all far too much, I just ignore most of it. Even though all the shows take place in the same universe and largely the same time (between ROTS and ANH), I don't think they really interlink much. Watching Andor I didn't feel like there was anything I was missing by not having seen any of the other shows.

I don't mind Solo but I don't love it. Rebels, The Bad Batch, Andor, the first 2 seasons of The Mandalorian, and Rogue One are the best of the Disney era. The Clone Wars is awesome!

Pretty cringe in dialogue, but great at world building, broad story strokes, overarching themes that carry through the OG and even Prequel trilogy. The Sequel trilogy could have been so great, I was so enthusiastic about the casting and director, but Disney not having an overarching roadmap for how the narrative of the trilogy should go is baffling and inexcusable. I'm not even someone who thinks that Last Jedi is a horrible film, or even a horrible STAR WARS film. There were a lot of interesting and new concepts and generally I think it was okay to have some expectation subversion. But as the middle act of a film trilogy, again with NO THIRD FILM STRUCTURE FINALIZED, it was pretty egregious. What else could Disney do but bring Palpatine back? Rise of Skywalker had so many production issues as well, that it should have just been delayed at least a year to sort everything else.
