A very interesting jester concept! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

So I was thinking, a big blockade for people trying to be abeiters of truth is the closed-mindedness of people (I mean, obviously) but more specifically I've been thinking about how we approach these subjects. So Alan Watts talks about Jokers/Jesters, (Interestingly enough not even in the context of hallucinagenics, which seem to be some sort of recurring entity for some people.) and compares them to Bodhisattva. These are both types of people with the awareness that there is a game being played and play it with that in consideration. A jester can get away with criticizing a king because they aren't being serious while still being sincere. So that's say most people are taking part in a theatre performance, without knowing, fully immersed in their stage personas. A lot of us are trying to shout out in the middle of the performance or whisper on stage "This is what's really going, the story being told isn't the reality of the situation" and meeting resistance most likely because it's too abrasive. The trouble is we feel this is all very serious and there's a sense of dread and urgency, 'there is no time for tact' it's possible that we're not planting seeds this way but trying to jam people up with fully formed trees. These people only need a little seed really for them to start the process of nurturing it and exploring more on their own. But actually I think I've had a lot more success getting people to think more about situations with an open mind if I present ideas, contradictions and "hypotheticals" light-heartedly. Although it wasn't my intent to change their minds necessarily, but just to have fun with challenging their beliefs while having a level of detachment to my own position. I think it's also a good way to stay in good spirits and maintain a positive mindset. But yeah, I recommend looking for "The Joker" lecture by Alan Watts on Youtube, not really sure I'm doing this justice heh. That's not to say I think this is the best approach possible though... mainly just a talking point for solutions to a problem we all seem to have.
