patreon

Frequency of updates.

For the next 2 updates I have planed to have bigger updates that update multiple characters and be more substential. However, I think it is better to put this question to the poll and let you decide. Continue the way it is now or you are willing to wait for bigger updates?

That is true

Maybe quarterly updates to still keep on a regular update schedule, and the updates could simply be just art teasers like you've been doing to show that it's still in the works, just needs more time to get more substance created for the next version release?

Would rather wait for a significant expansion a few times a year then take micro steps every few weeks.

You have been. If you have regular larger updates it can help reassure the community and give the time you need. Maybe try something like quarterly updates with teasers and discussions.

Don

Bigger updates means you'll be able to take the time to work on the backend stuff that players wont usually notice, but are essential for keeping the game running in one piece. Don't fall into tech debt!

Dollop

Glad you think so! It is my goal to improve with each game.

No no no no. This is a pitfall every patreon dev falls for. One month turns into 2 months and then into 3 months and finally no update for 8 months. Then patrons think the game is dead and drop the game or, worse, the dev gets too lax to work on their own game. Or all it takes is one burnout timeoff and the game goes into development hell and ultimately abandoned. I've seen this pattern happen many times before. Devs need to hold themselves accountable and work on a timely schedule. Patrons are more forgiving if a dev is late for a release if they had a consistent bi-weekly release schedule than a dev that usually releases every 3 months. There is no excuse for delays if they had 3 whole months to work on it.

How about a circle of little update and then bigger update

Rolarez

This please. Bigger updates, keep frequent previews and commentary.

Mike

Take your time. Rather have big updates

Blu

Take your time with the update but let us know how it is progressing

Take your time. So far this game is shaping up to be better than your last, which was already great.
